MONTREAL — BranditScan.com CEO Gino Sciretta will host “Protect Your Brand, Your Content & Your Personal Info” on Tuesday, January 12, from 5-6 p.m. (PST) at the virtual XBIZ Show.
A rep noted that Sciretta, who is also the co-founder and former CTO of ManyVids, has “grown tired of seeing adult content creators fall victim to scams, abuse from hackers and doxxing.”
“He thinks that the industry needs to start talking openly about the issues surrounding model information and their privacy,” continued the rep. “During his live XBIZ 2021 workshop, he wants to start this open discussion with content creators, sharing his experiences and situations that he has faced, and wants to share these hard learned lessons with the industry.”
The exec “has always been passionate about privacy and security,” the rep said. “With the trends of phishing scams and doxxing only increasing, he knew he had to be a part of the solution. He has taken his passion to the next level and founded BranditScan, a software company that gives content creators a 360-degree view on how their brand is being used on the web and the ability to fight back against piracy by protecting their brand from unwanted use. He has found that the biggest challenge the industry faces today surrounds content, and the damage it can cause to their brand and their income.”
Sciretta, with a decade of experience in adult, noted that “(b)eing proactive is what is most important.”
“Most people think that they’re being proactive, but I’ve seen the most cautious of content creators fall victim to these types of things,” Sciretta said. “These models work really hard for their content and it’s ridiculous to see pirates taking advantage of their content.”
“Nothing is more demotivating to see your vids appearing on pirate sites after you spent so much time and effort shooting them,” he added.
