SYDNEY — Australian sex worker Rubi Valentine has passed away, according to reports from industry friends and colleagues.

“We are deeply saddened to hear of Rubi’s passing,” hosts Jena Love and Holly Harte announced in a statement. “The loss of a peer is always a difficult time, and Rubi’s infectious attitude, commitment to reducing stigma and proud whoreness will be so sorely missed. We are honored to have know such an extraordinary force. Rest in power, Rubi.”
Valentine’s IAFD page shows a dozen of credits from 2018 until 2020, most of them for Australian indie studio Girls Out West.
Fellow sex worker Tilly Lawless wrote a eulogy for her friend on Instagram celebrating Valentine’s “work ethic and the way the home space you’d made for yourself was sacred.”
Valentine, Lawless added, “dreamed of being a mother, outspokenly defended your job, set financial goals and got to them.”
Lawless described her late friend as “wholesome whore, proud prostitute, doesn’t suffer fools, inflexible, beach-loving, juice sipping, hard-working, tough fighting.
