Beducated Advocates for Sex Education to Combat Gender-Based Violence

LOS ANGELES — Beducated released a statement in response to the 4B movement, which a rep described as “a South Korean feminist initiative that rejects dating, marriage, sex and childbirth with men as a protest against systemic gender inequality” that is “gaining momentum in the U.S.”

In the statement, the company rep said Beducated believes more widespread sexual education programming will prevent gender-based violence and help foster healthy relationships.

“The rise of movements like 4B underscores a significant gap in our approach to sex education,” added Mariah Freya, co-founder of Beducated. “When individuals lack access to comprehensive, pleasure-based sex education, misunderstandings about consent and healthy sexual interactions proliferate, leading to environments where gender-based violence can thrive. By providing inclusive and thorough sex education, Beducated empowers individuals to openly engage in respectful and consensual relationships, thereby addressing the root causes that movements like 4B are reacting against.”
