Gwyneth Paltrow Releases Video to Promote Goop’s ‘Viva La Vulva’ Vibrator

Gwyneth Paltrow Releases Video Promoting Goop's 'Viva La Vulva' Vibrator

LOS ANGELES — Gwyneth Paltrow has released a video on Instagram showcasing the Viva La Vulva vibrator, the latest addition to her lifestyle brand Goop.

Viva la Vulva, retailing at $98, is described as “a clitoral stimulator made for deeply satisfying orgasms,” a rep noted.

Vagina owners, the rep continued, are encouraged to “use your thumb and middle finger to grasp the gold sphere in the middle, then place the highest point of the arch on your clitoris — or wherever else feels good — for targeted stimulation.

“For broader vulva massage, the curve will help you find a rhythm,” the rep added, also noting the silicone pleasure product’s “ultra-quiet” quality.

“Go at it solo or pass the toy to a partner and explore its rumbly vibrations together,” the rep concluded.

Paltrow’s video shows her at home chasing the mysterious sounds of Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons,” and ultimately realizing they emanate from a small white box on her kitchen counter.

Paltrow opens the box and is delighted to find the discreet sex toy.

“She’s small but mighty,” the lifestyle diva wrote about Viva La Vulva.

Nigerian Government Orders All Open Platforms to ‘Remove’ All Pornography

LAGOS — The federal government of Nigeria, the largest economy in Africa, ordered all open-access online platforms last week to “remove, disable or block access” to all “pornographic” content.

Although the introduction to the order specifically targets “any non-consensual content, which displays partial or full nudity, sexual acts, deep fake or revenge porn,” a less-prominent section expands the ban to “all illegal material” and orders platforms to “inform users through the terms of service not to create, publish, promote, modify, transmit, store or share any content or information” that is “defamatory, libelous, pornographic, revenge porn, bullying, harassing, obscene, encouraging money laundering, exploiting a child, fraud, violence or inconsistent with Nigeria’s laws and public order.”

All gay content is already automatically illegal in Nigeria, as is any form of private gay sexuality. According to reports, the country ranks second worldwide on searches for “gay porn.”

The order was made public last Tuesday and all platforms available to the 216-million Nigerians were only given 24 hours to comply.

It is unclear what the reach and success of the measure was in practice, even without considering the use of easily available VPN programs to change an individual IP address location.

The order was included in the new Code of Practice for Interactive Computer Service Platforms/Internet Intermediaries (Online Platforms), issued last week according to local sources.

The Code of Practice was developed by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) together with the Nigerian Communications Commission and the National Broadcasting Commission. Those organizations claimed they requested input from top platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Google and TikTok.

The Code of Practice urged online platforms to “act expeditiously to remove, disable or block access to non-consensual content that exposes a person’s private areas, full or partial nudity, sexual act or revenge porn, where such content is targeted to harass, disrepute, or intimidate an individual.

“A Platform must acknowledge the receipt of the complaint and take down the content within 24 hours,” the order concluded.

Moreover any alleged “unlawful content” should immediately be deleted “upon receiving a notice from a user, or an authorized government agency,” the order mandated.

In an attempt to exercise direct pressure on international companies, the Code of Practice also required each online platform to designated a specific representative to interface with the Nigerian authorities. Any platform with more than 100,000 Nigerian users is also ordered to establish an office in Nigeria. That office is also ordered to provide information about any Nigerian users upon demand by the government.

According to a recent report by the Council on Foreign Relations, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has “reverted to his authoritarian style of the 1980s, growing intolerant of the press and civil society organizations that challenge his administration. Buhari’s government accuses its critics of crimes including treason and terrorism, and has undercut the judiciary. This recent authoritarian turn threatens progress made in Africa’s most populous country since the military left power in 1999.”

Buhari is a retired Nigerian Army major general who served as the country’s military head of state from 1983 until 1985, after taking power in a military coup. He was elected as constitutional president in 2015 and has been in power for seven years.

Aubry Andrews Highlights Consent on This Week's #SexTalkTuesday

BOSTON — Aubry Andrews of “Confess to Aubry” will serve as guest moderator for tomorrow’s edition of the Twitter-based chat show #SexTalkTuesday, from 5 to 6 p.m. (PDT) to discuss the topic: “What does consent look like?”

Andrews’ writing and research “explores how men choose to see women, how women choose to see themselves and how these viewpoints impact the ever-changing landscape of sexuality and relationships,” said a rep.

Her Twitter account presents 30 hand-picked confessions from contributors across the globe, which are curated to “inspire, shock and thrill every Friday,” the rep continued. “Other projects include a serial piece on Medium, ‘Nice Guys Finish Last and Why They Should;’ a dating misadventures book featuring collected stories from women around the world; and her ever-growing thesis on the shift in relationship dynamics and the declining divorce rates in the U.S.”

Angie Rowntree, founder of Sssh.com and producer of #SexTalkTuesday, explained that “given the attacks on sex-positivity that are increasingly prevalent in mainstream media, it’s now more important than ever to discuss consent and also have open dialogue about sexual ethics. Consent is absolutely vital to the sexual freedoms we enjoy, not just in the adult industry as content creators, but also for civilians navigating today’s world as well.”

Emily Willis Stars in Erotic Crime Thriller ‘Revenge’ From Dorcel

Emily Willis Stars in Erotic Crime Thriller 'Revenge' From Dorcel

PARIS — Reigning and twice-crowned XBIZ “Female Performer of the Year” Emily Willis stars in director Herve Bodilis’ “Revenge” from Dorcel.

The storyline follows the story of a successful, high-stakes hustler (Willis) who shakes down influential men for money or information that can be sold to the highest bidder. “When her latest job is ambushed by a previous victim, Emily is given an ultimatum; to make things right, she must perform a dangerous mission that will take her deep into the a world of dark money, data theft, Russian billionaires and cryptocurrency. She’s told that any failure to comply or complete her task will result in ‘unfortunate events’ befalling her family, specifically her younger sister, played by newcomer Candie Luciani.”

As Willis devises a plan to hijack millions in crypto from a Russian playboy (Marcello Bravo), she reforms her old team of professional criminals, played by Clara Mia, Cléa Gaultier, Anissa Kate, Carollina Cherry and reigning XBIZ Europa “Female Performer of the Year” Cherry Kiss.

“At first reluctant to work together again, even for one last lucrative score, they eventually set aside their differences for the sole purpose of saving Candie,” added the rep.

Willis delivers “an impeccable performance as the Danny Ocean-esque rogue pulling the strings,” the rep said. “It’s a role she plays with awards-worthy conviction amidst the exotic European locations, palatial villas and high production values that distinguish Dorcel from the competition.”

Daniel Metcalf, U.S.-based publicist for the studio, noted noted “Revenge” is “arriving to our shores on a wave of high anticipation, given how well it has been performing overseas.”

“Herve Bodilis is never one to shy away from provocation — he’s more likely to sprint towards it — and he has once again raised the bar for himself,” Metcalf added. “He’s set the story of a woman’s psychological and sexual awakening against a complex, globe-trotting storyline that looks back to Tarantino and Soderbergh while looking ahead to things like blockchain and virtual currency, all while delivering seven sex scenes and a career-best acting performance from Emily Willis.”

Japanese Proposal Enabling Adult Performers to Void Their Own Contracts Becomes Law

Japanese Proposal Enabling Adult Performers to Void Their Own Contracts Becomes Law

TOKYO — A Japanese legislative proposal allowing anyone who signs a contract to appear in “pornographic productions” to void that contract at any time for any reason has been passed into law.

As XBIZ has reported, a legislative debate in recent weeks about lowering the age of legal majority in Japan quickly devolved into a sensationalist campaign about adult performers aged 18-19; the age-majority bill was passed unanimously in a plenary session of the House of Representatives in late May.

As the bill passed into law on Wednesday, Japanese newspaper The Mainichi described it as “marking a step in efforts to end abuses of those involved in the industry in Japan.”

The bill “allows people who agree to appear in pornographic content to terminate their contracts at any time before the film’s public release without conditions, as well as up to a year afterward,” reported The Mainchi. “However, as a special measure, a review period of up to two years after a film’s release will apply for the first two years after the law’s promulgation. If the contract is terminated, video vendors are obliged to recover the products and delete the footage, and cannot claim compensation from the performers.”

The bill was passed at a House of Councillors plenary session and mandates that “a month must pass between the signing of a contract and the filming of the video, and four months between the filming of the video and its public release,” noted the newspaper. “This gives enough time for those who appear in them to reconsider whether they still want to make the film and release it. Producers must additionally provide a written explanation to performers describing the nature of the content, including specific sexual acts required during filming, and the fact that they may be identifiable.”

Punishment for violating the new law includes hefty fines and a prison term of up to three years.

The Mainchi notes “the definition of pornography as ‘video productions of sexual acts’ has been met with protests from support groups and others, who argue that the bill would legalize the exchange of money for sex,” which lawmakers have disputed.

Hot Octopuss Rolls Out Campaign Focused on Men’s Mental Health

Hot Octopuss Rolls Out Campaign Focused on Men's Mental Health

LONDON — Hot Octopuss has rolled out a public service campaign to raise awareness around men’s mental health.

“Globally, on average, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, yet men’s mental health is still a taboo subject; unfortunately too many men lose their lives as a result,” a rep said. “Hot Octopuss often advocates for men’s mental health and has released a series of videos of men sharing their struggles with mental health and toxic masculinity in a bid to encourage more men to have this important discussion.”

The videos explore emotions and identity, perception and media, masculinity, sex and self-love and general advice.

The campaign is personal to the company’s head of creative, Kelly Gordon, who lost her best friend Tom to suicide when both were 19 years old.

“A large contributing factor of Tom taking his own life was the pressure on him as a man within a society that is so quick to judge,” Gordon said. “Making the series of videos with men from all different backgrounds was really important to me to demonstrate that men do still hide their feelings.”

“As a brand, we want to encourage men to keep talking and to remind them all feelings are valid,” she added. “The purpose of these videos is to break the stigma and encourage men from all backgrounds to speak up about their mental health and to speak to their friends and family about anything they’re going through.”

The campaign is being promoted on social media with the hashtags #MensHealthWeek2022, #SelfLoveNotStigma and #HotOctopuss.
