Digital Playground Releases Danny D Feature ‘Uncaged’

LOS ANGELES — Digital Playground has premiered its new Danny D-directed feature, “Uncaged.”

The title stars Megan Fiore, Angie Lynx, Yasmina Khan, Ali Rose, Juan Lucha, Danny D, Bilbo Shaggins, and Dimitri Shadow.

The feature centers on aspiring MMA fighter Brianna Garcia (Fiore).

“Brianna has caught the eye of everyone at her gym,” the synopsis reveals. “But it’s the gym’s owner, former MMA contender Chris Diaz (Lucho), who sees something extra special in her. Chris becomes more than just a passionate coach. But when sleazy promoter Jerry Finch (Danny D) dangles a fight against world champion Hayley Logan (Lynx), Brianna must choose between the spotlight and Chris.

A Digital Playground rep enthused about the title and praised the cast and crew.

“‘Uncaged’ is a real treat for DP fans,” the rep said. “Danny is an incredible director as always, and the cast definitely punched above their weight.”

Added D, “‘Uncaged’ was a great film for us to produce and shoot. I honestly really enjoyed the grittiness of the whole project. We had to travel around to a few cool locations, which can be stressful mid-production, but I feel it was worth the extra effort.”

Fiore also enthused about the project.

“Working for Digital Playground has been one of the best experiences in my acting career,” she said. “I had the pleasure of working with a great team and professionals in the sector, and I’ve been able to learn a lot and grow as an actress. In this series, I mix work with pleasure because boxing is one of my great passions. Fans will surely love it.”

Lynx praised the studio and the crew.

“Shooting a Digital Playground movie for me was an amazing experience,” she said. “What is so important for me while shooting is to feel comfortable and welcome, and this was exactly what I felt. We had so many laughs, and I was treated so well the whole time. It was my first scene with Danny; I have to admit that I was a little nervous, but he took such good care of me.”

The first scene from “Uncaged” drops today on Digital Playground; the subsequent three installments will drop throughout the month.

Leana Lovings, Jake Adelstein Guest on ‘And Now We Drink’ Podcast

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Leana Lovings and author Jake Adelstein are the latest guests on the “And Now We Drink” podcast, hosted by Matt Slayer.

The episode includes discussion about how Japan’s repeal of the statute of limitations for murder delayed the publication of his confession-filled “The Last Yakuza”; Lovings’ desire to visit a love hotel with a Hello Kitty room; Adelstein’s revelation that, in his youth, he found employment providing massages for Japanese ladies; and Slayer’s unique take on the severing of one’s pinky in the Yakuza, among other topics.

“Hours before this interview, I was standing in a bookstore listening to a friend of mine give a talk on the sequel to his award-winning book, ‘Tokyo Vice,’” Lovings said. “‘Tokyo Noir,’ he explained, continues the story that he lived in his forays with the culture of the Yakuza. Jake Adelstein, at the end of his book signing, greeted me with a handshake and a hug, and in no time at all we were in the den of Matt Slayer, zeroed in on our catch-ups, focused on the conclusions of our separate adventures since we’d last met. One year prior, I played a part in helping him find two missing persons by infiltrating an elite club in Tokyo, and that evening with Matt and Jake, I spent two and a half hours finding out the fates of the people he was searching for. To me that was the highlight of our discussion, but it never gets old speaking with Jake, and Matt carried the conversation between the three of us with measured skill and a good helping of drinks!”

Adelstein enthused about the appearance as well.

“I’ve done many things in life: been a masseur, an investigative reporter, a podcaster and, in 2017, I became a low-ranking Zen Buddhist priest,” he said. “Of the 10 vows, the fifth one is not to drink so much that one becomes drunk, and I almost broke my sacred vow on this podcast. Thankfully Matt led me to temptation but didn’t make me drink — too much.”

The episode is available on AndNowWeDrink.
