U.K. communications regulator Ofcom will hold an online conference Feb. 3-5, titled “The Online Safety Act Explained: How to Comply,” explaining new duties and deadlines required of adult businesses to implement age assurance under the Online Safety Act (OSA).

The OSA makes online services with users in the U.K. legally responsible for screening out minors from viewing adult content, no matter where their business is based. Ofcom has been rolling out the new regulations in phases and recently released age assurance guidelines.

The conference will include a mix of topics intended to support industry stakeholders in complying with the new law. It will include 11 sessions, and participants may join any that are relevant to their business and needs.

Day 1 will cover the new online safety obligations, what steps companies need to take now and deadlines for compliance. Day 2 will walk participants through Ofcom’s guidance and digital toolkit, cover the assessments companies must make as part of the compliance process and offer an interactive Q&A period. Day 3 will examine what the new rules mean for various types of services and dive into other specifics.

The sessions will take place Feb. 3-5 from 14:30 – 17:30 GMT, which is 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Pacific time and 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Eastern time in the United States.
