Plazacraft Releases Innovative Erotic Card Game ‘The Lovers’

KRAKOW, Poland — Polish gaming company Plazacraft has announced the release of adult erotic game “The Lovers,” available now through online retailers.

“This game is very special because unlike other games, it doesn’t take minutes or hours to complete, but weeks or even months,” said a rep, describing “The Lovers” as “a game that will undoubtedly spice up your sex life.”

“The Lovers” is available in three levels. “The rules for each level are the same, but the higher the level, the more challenging the tasks,” the rep explained.

These levels are:

  • Romantic (currently available): An initial level aimed at rekindling the romance, bringing forth erotic playfulness and also a bit of naughtiness. At this level, there is nothing that goes beyond the generally accepted norms, although sometimes you may be a little bit surprised. This level is great for breaking the ice or rekindling that feeling you had when you first started dating
  • Hardcore (available in May): This level is recommended for those who want more. It is a no-holds-barred experience, and a lot of it has to do with domination. This level and the next one come in two versions: ‘Master & Slave’ and ‘Switch.’ The only difference is the arrangement of cards. The cards in Master & Slave version are arranged according the roles, while in the Switch version, the cards are mixed up
  • Pervert (forthcoming): The name speaks for itself. The ‘Pervert’ level is intended only for a small group with few or no sexual inhibitions. At this level most of the cards engage third persons to play

“This game is truly different,” said a rep. “Its very original rules make it special — a similar one cannot be found on the market. Every card has its own unique graphic, making it not only nice to play, but to watch as well. In fact, ‘Level Two’ is so hot that some printing houses refused to print it.”

LAPD Homicide Reaches Out to Popular Podcast in Billy London Cold Case

LAPD Homicide Reaches Out to Popular Podcast in Billy London Cold Case

LOS ANGELES — LAPD homicide has reached out to the podcast “TDPS Presents Christopher and Eric” following a recent episode that examined the unsolved 1990 murder of William Arnold Newton, also known as gay adult performer Billy London. The hosts, novelists Christopher Rice and Eric Shaw Quinn, uncovered a potential bombshell of a lead and spoke exclusively to XBIZ in November to encourage industry members who may have additional information to reach out.

Ep. 60 of “TDPS Presents Christopher and Eric” pieces together a timeline of the final few days leading up to London’s murder based on information that is currently available; Ep. 48 features the broadcast’s prior deep dive into the story.

In the course of his initial research, Rice spoke to this reporter, who first dug into the case more than a decade ago.

Billy London also worked as “Bill E. London.” (This story does not involve another male performer of recent vintage with the same name.) He was active for just a few short years in the late 1980s and appeared in titles for All Worlds Video and Catalina Video, InHand and Le Salon, among several others.

In late October 1990, shortly before Halloween, London completed what would be his final film and was last seen alive, according to available evidence, socializing in West Hollywood, California. On October 29, his head and feet were discovered in a dumpster; despite several attempts over the years to generate new tips or leads, the case has remained cold.

This past July 26, 2020, he would have turned 55 years old.

In a joint statement provided to XBIZ, Rice and Quinn said, “When we first used ‘TDPS Presents Christopher & Eric’ to start a conversation about Billy’s long unsolved murder, the goal was to inspire a new generation of advocates to take up the cause of his case. Now that our podcast episodes have drawn the attention of LAPD homicide, we feel both inspired and hopeful that Billy’s story won’t be soon forgotten. And we plan to keep the conversation going with the participation of those voices with the greatest potential for solving the case.”

Golden Age Gay Producer, Director Scott Masters Passes

LOS ANGELES — XBIZ has received word that producer and director Scott Masters, a hugely influential figure in gay adult for more than four decades, passed late last year. He had been moved to an assisted-living facility in Bloomington, Illinois in the past year and in mid-autumn, a caregiver informed a family friend that Masters had recently died.

Famously recalcitrant, Masters shunned publicity but his influence on gay adult — and gay culture overall — was inarguable. A rare photo, seen above, shows (from L-R) Gino Colbert, Tom DeSimone, John Travis, William Higgins, Masters and Lucas Kazan, at the premiere of All Worlds Video’s “Andel’s Story” in the late ’90s.

Masters guided and shaped the careers of dozens of top stars: Rick Chase, Kevin Cobain, Kevin Dean, Adam Hart, Jimmy Hughes, Ryan Idol, Clay Maverick, Sonny Markham, Mark Montana, Ken Ryker, Joey Stefano, Chris Steele, Jon Vincent, Jeff White and many more.

In the mid-1960s, Masters, a self-taught photographer, relocated to San Francisco from Chicago and began selling male nude photo sets, his own as well as others from such notables as Bruce of L.A. and Athletic Model Guild, and quickly became a prolific publisher. Although laws regarding nude male photography had been relaxed, in 1972 Masters nevertheless drew the wrath of authorities in Texas and pleaded guilty to obscenity charges, for which he received a one-year suspended sentence.

In 1970, using the pseudonym “Robert Stephens,” Masters began producing loops and eventually formed The Stephens Agency, a short-lived distribution company. His first full-length feature was “White Lightning” in 1973 and Nova Studios followed a few years later.

Nova, which was shuttered in the mid-1980s, introduced many notable performers and directors and largely responsible for establishing a highly polished, cinematic style known as the “West Coast look.”

“I can’t think of any gay adult producer more consequential than Scott Masters,” Kazan told XBIZ, “with a career spanning decades four decades and relevant contributions in each decade — as a magazine publisher in the late ’60s; as the man behind Nova Studio in the ’70s; as the producer in charge of Catalina in the late-’80s; and as the co-founder of Studio 2000 in the late ’90s and early 2000s.”

John Travis, Masters’ longtime creative partner and the co-founder of Studio 2000, passed in 2017.

“Scott and I became friends after my directing debut at Men of Odyssey in 1997, with ‘Journey to Italy,'” Kazan recalled. “He was brutally honest with me: ‘Lucas,’ he told me, ‘you didn’t give Men of Odyssey an $80,000 movie. You didn’t deliver a $50,000 movie. Hell, you didn’t deliver a $20,000 movie.’ I loved him all the more for it. Scott taught me a great deal about self-discipline, self-criticism and work ethics. And about the industry I was about to embark on.”

“We would get together for lunch in West Hollywood every now and then,” Kazan said. “I would ask him, starstruck, about Nova, the early loops, the later feature films — ‘Something Wild’ is, to this day, one of my favorite movies of all time. He would hardly discuss any of them, perhaps not realizing, not fully, the richness of his legacy and its impact on the language of gay porn and the forms of gay desire.”

Chi Chi LaRue began his career in adult as an administrative assistant and creative director at Catalina Video in the mid-’80s and infamously clashed with the powerful producer when he first moved into directing. Nevertheless, their collaboration produced a number of notable titles.

“I worked very closely with Scott when I was at Catalina. He wasn’t very fond of me directing but I proved him wrong,” LaRue told XBIZ. “I’m very sad for the loss of another life in our business. May he rest in peace.”

Professor Martin Pozsgai is compiling a monographic study of Nova Studio and shared with XBIZ his thoughts about Masters’ cultural influence.

“Together with Studio 2000, Scott Masters’ ouevre offers the rare opportunity to explore and follow the representations of gay sex and the artistic development of masculinity in visual culture over four decades in the context of social, cultural and political changes almost continuously — from the gay liberation movement to the AIDS crisis and the establishment of equal rights for queer people after the turn of the millennium,” he said.

Last year, Pozsgai penned a remembrance on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the publication of “HIS — Handsome Is,” believed to be “the first picture magazine to contain exclusively homoerotic photographs taken by [Masters],” an artist who “created an extraordinarily rich and imaginative work of gay erotic pornography in the decades that followed.”

“Over the decades, Masters’ business [had] been incredibly productive,” noted Pozsgai. “At the same time, [he] always felt committed to the gay movement, the gay community he wanted to serve.”

XBIZ will expand this story with additional information as warranted.

Twitter Suddenly Suspends ModelCentro, Clips4Sale Accounts

SAN FRANCISCO — Amidst what several adult industry figures and sex workers advocates are calling an apparent ongoing crackdown on sex-related accounts on Twitter, this past weekend the social network suspended the accounts of two prominent adult platforms: FanCentro and Clips4Sale.

Attempts to access their Twitter accounts lead to blank pages that reads “Account suspended,” followed by a succint statement that “Twitter suspends accounts which violate the Twitter Rules.”

The suspensions have generated a wave of fear among the sex worker community on Twitter, which relies on the platform for promotional purposes and to communicate with each other. Unlike Facebook and Instagram, Twitter tolerates adult content, although it has had a documented history of shadowbanning sex-related accounts.

ModelCentro Responds

“We’re incredibly frustrated by Twitter’s increasingly arbitrary removal of adult content,” ModelCentro’s Kat Revenga told XBIZ. “We’ve had no communication at all from Twitter. They provided no warning, nor did they give us any reason why the accounts were shut down. There’s no way to appeal, restart the accounts, or even know what others can do to prevent this.”

Revenga added that “this should frighten everyone in adult. No matter what the platform, we’ve erred on the side of caution with our social media content. These accounts were used to communicate with models, and to promote their work.”

As with most corporate censorship measures against adult industry companies, Revenga pointed out, the real victims are the models and sex workers.

“The people most affected by this are those who use our platforms to build businesses and communicate with fans,” Revenga said. “It’s not fair to our industry, and it’s certainly not fair to sex workers.”

APAG ‘Concerned’ About Suspensions

Alana Evans, president of the adult performers union APAG, told XBIZ that “social media account removals are always concerning for our community.”

“We have seen an increase in account removals as performers have been contacting us with their deletions,” said Evans. “We are currently working with [adult marketing consultant] Amberly Rothfield to pinpoint these issues and create a meeting with Twitter executives as we have with Instagram.”

APAG, Evans said, encourages performers to be mindful of Twitter’s current Terms of Service and and to watch for any changes that may affect them.

“In this time with Covid keeping us at home, social media access is a lifeline, not only with our fans, but advocacy as well,” Evans concluded. “To be removed from Twitter could not only crush their careers, but also cause major harm to one’s mental health.“

XBIZ reached out to Clips4Sale for comment. Twitter does not publicly list press contacts and, unlike their competitors, has been consistently unresponsive to attempts at reaching them for comment or clarification.
