PENNSAUKEN, N.J. — Williams Trading Co. (WTC) will donate a portion of its proceeds from monthly sales events during May and June to the American Red Cross for Ukrainian humanitarian crisis relief.

“The owners of WTC and our employees stand with Ukraine. We are united in our support for its sovereignty and its territorial integrity, and we stand in full solidarity with Ukraine’s government and with her brave people during this devastating time,” a rep said.

“Since the COVID-19 epidemic in the United States, the adult novelty business has enjoyed unprecedented growth with our dealer and vendor partners. We ask that you support Ukraine in your own way, with a simple donation to the American Red Cross or any other charitable organization in the support of the Ukrainian people,” continued the rep.

Besides the Red Cross, WTC urges support for the GoFundMe campaign launched by actors Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, which has currently raised over $35 million; Kunis was born in Ukraine.

“As fighting in Ukraine continues, the American Red Cross has contributed $10 million to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to help alleviate the suffering caused by this devastating crisis,” noted the rep. “This support allows the Red Cross network to provide lifesaving aid to those in need — both in the country and in neighboring areas.”

CANADA — The quarterly magazine Granfalloon: A Speculative Fiction and Poetry Zine has announced a call for writers to submit erotic-based speculative work for their Summer 2022 issue.

“From Lovecraft’s Cthulhu to Huxley’s ‘Brave New World’ to the Golden Age of science fiction fantasy with authors like Philip José Farmer and Theodore Sturgeon, to Captain Kirk’s green concubine in ‘Star Trek,’ and all the way up to the present with new generations of writers, the erotic as a theme and aesthetic has played a key role in speculative fiction/sci-fi,” said editor-in-chief Albert Mamet.

“We decided to dedicate a special issue exploring the erotic in speculative fiction, the idea emerging from discussions with some of our contributors who write erotic sci-fi. To accomplish this goal, we’ve brought on a guest editor with roots both in the erotic and science fiction writing communities and teamed up with an illustrator, Joe Swarctz, who’ll be providing the cover art and be featured as a contributing artist,” added Mamet.

BOCA RATON, Fla.— Nu Sensuelle will join the GLSEN worldwide Day of Silence movement Friday.

Founded by a group of teachers in 1990, a rep said, GLSEN is an American education organization that actively works to end discrimination, harassment and bullying based on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. GLSEN focuses their efforts on promoting LGBTQ+ cultural inclusion and awareness in K-12 schools by establishing student-led movements, such as Day of Silence.

Day of Silence is described as a demonstration in which LGBTQ+ students and allies around the world take a vow of silence to protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ+ individuals in schools.

“Every April, students not only remain silent for the entirety of the day, but set up booths in main areas of their school buildings to sell merchandise in support of GLSEN’s cause,” noted the rep. “The Day of Silence concludes with ‘Breaking the Silence’ rallies and events in which participants share their experiences during the protest and bring attention to ways in which their schools and communities can become more inclusive.”

“Nu Sensuelle has chosen to participate in the Day of Silence to show solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.
