Jia Lissa: Vixen Euro Sensation Embraces Stardom, ‘PhD in Jiology’

Insatiable fire-maned star Jia Lissa, who last year gave one of the most memorable (and tearful) acceptance speeches during the 2020 XBIZ Europa Awards after being crowned Female Performer of the Year, remains one of the hottest stars in the industry to this day.

From 2017 to now, the highly selective performer has starred in around 80 scenes, making a splash after signing a contract in 2018 with Vixen as the mega-brand set its sights on conquering the European continent. Under the practiced eye of her Julmodels agency matriarch, Julia Grandi, who won Director of the Year at the Europas in 2020, Lissa has blossomed brightly.

Even though she only rarely graces the screen of studio-shot content, her social media action is undeniable, as fans flock to every joyful post.

Whether she’s strumming her ukelele as she belts out heartfelt songs or bouncing up and down with enthusiasm as she sashays around her latest vacation spot on an Instagram story, the likes, comments and engagement metrics are explosive. After all, she’s super authentic and somehow straddles the fine line between model-hot and girl-next-door.

The ease with which she has mastered the creator economy is no accident, as she spent years camming on MyFreeCams before delving into solo and girl/girl for studios like MetArt, LetsDoeIt and VivThomas. Soon enough, she was breaking into boy/girl with scene partner Christian Clay under the visionary lens of Greg Lansky, who won multiple directing awards during his time with Vixen, Tushy and Blacked.

Now, she has more than 1.1 million fans on Instagram, over 350K on Twitter and ranks in the top-100 range on Pornhub, where she has amassed 100+ million views and hundreds of thousands of subscribers, not to mention achieving the top 0.5% on OnlyFans.

Catch up with the acclaimed and multi-faceted Lissa, who reveals what it takes to have a PhD in “Jiology” for this exclusive interview.

XBIZ: Tell us what inspired you to become an adult actress and how you have evolved as a performer over the past few years.

LISSA: I was very shy in school. But inside, I was that flashy performer and wanted to become the center of attention. I was also very sexual and these two passions led me onto the path of becoming an adult actress.

Over the past few years, I started to have more complex scenarios and sets for my content and performances, which helped me explore my acting talent. For me, porn has always been art. And I’m an artist.

XBIZ: How has working with the Julmodels agency and its owner Julia Grandi, the reigning XBIZ Europas Director of the Year, elevated your career?

LISSA: Ever since I started doing professional scenes, I’ve worked with Julmodels and Julia Grandi. She always believed in me and supported me all the way.

I’m immensely grateful and a big part of my success is her work. For me, Julmodels became my second family and it’s more than just an agency.

XBIZ: What are a few of the favorite scenes you’ve shot with Vixen Media Group, that really captured your spirit?

LISSA: My first scene… my first time… will always hold a special place in my memories. It was shot on Mykonos by Greg Lansky. I was so nervous and look how far I’ve come now!

Also, there are a couple fresh scenes that are yet to come and I can’t open up about them yet; they’re a secret. But I’ll give you a hint: they involved brand-new experiences for me, taking things to a new level.

XBIZ: As a star with many unique talents, including musical performances and comedy, discuss how you engage fans on social media.

LISSA: Yes, music is my hobby and I like to share it on my Instagram. I play the ukulele and write my own songs.

I stopped showing too much sexy content a couple years ago on that platform, which makes me safer from bans, and I think it’s always better to show some personality. If they want to see me naked, they know where to go. Being funny and relatable is sexy too!

XBIZ: What kind of independently-produced content sells best for you, both in your subscriber feed and via pay-to-view DMs on premium social media?

LISSA: I was surprised how supportive my fans are. I like to be creative and sometimes I get too weird, but they always give me good sales and tips. That helped me to stay top 0.5% during the last year.

All my content is interesting, though, because I make it fun. And if they can’t cum to what I produce, they still enjoy it and get to laugh. That’s what people come for when they need to cum, no? To forget their daily routine and problems.

XBIZ: How would you describe the “Jia Lissa” brand and what does it take to have a “PhD in Jiology?”

LISSA: “Jiology” is my made-up science. It’s a mix of hedonism, passion for nudism, chemistry and atomic physics. Oops, sorry, anatomical physics. And, of course, madness.

Nobody yet has risen to the PhD level other than myself, because it takes years and years of dedicated mastur… mastering.

“Jia Lissa” is crazy, funny and then sexy, in that order. She is in demand not just in the porn industry, but also with brands of clothing and jewelry who I’ve had the pleasure to work with.

XBIZ: Discuss the ways you’ve navigated the pandemic over the past year and a half, staying successful and happy.

LISSA: I’m not going to lie; the first thing I did when I found out that quarantine is gonna hit the world, is I bought a ticket to Bali. I stayed there for a year during the pandemic.

I didn’t shoot and just drank coconut water on the beach, enjoying the ocean. I found pleasure in doing sports and meditations. I do meditate before shoots sometimes to “concentrate my chi” for better acting. Imagine me smoking Palo Santo and incense before getting fully glammed with makeup to rock the porn set.

XBIZ: Who are a few of your closest friends in the industry, and how do you encourage each other to thrive?

LISSA: I met Liya Silver in the end of 2018 when we both were starting our own unique paths in the industry. We fell for each other, started living together and made tons of fun content. Our chemistry is insane and you can feel it through the screen. My relationships with people are inspiring, especially when we share the same passions.

XBIZ: As a frequent traveler, what is your approach to balancing personal time on vacation with sharing your journey on social media?

LISSA: I personally feel comfortable with sharing some fun adventures and I do some partnerships with hotels, local restaurants and brands while traveling. Of course, it’s important to be careful for safety and not share the specific places you go on social media while you are still there.

XBIZ: What’s next for your career and real life, for the rest of 2021 and beyond?

LISSA: Wow, I have a lot happening in my personal life and in my career path. As I said before, music is my hobby and these days I’m focused on preparing more songs. I’m also mainly focused on creating my own content. Imagine not having to worry about copyright issues when I can just use my own music during a live or recorded show, haha. I’m so excited!

Drew Dixon, Nico Nova Launch ‘Sacred Sex’ for Himeros.tv

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — Davey Wavey’s Himeros.tv has announced the release of “Sacred Sex,” described as a “one-of-a-kind new series” for which Wavey has partnered in its design with “a former priest and current gay sex coach” to reclaim sacred and religious symbols and imagery.

The project proposes that sex — and gay sex, in particular — is sacred, a rep explained.

“Recognizing the sacred nature of what we do with our erotic bodies is the first step in countering centuries of being told that we are sinful, impure or, the church’s favorite word, ‘disordered,'” noted the rep. “Those words have taken their toll on the gay community and many have experienced the shame and trauma that comes with them.”

The debut episode, titled “Baptism,” features Drew Dixon and Nico Nova and “reclaims what it means to be washed clean, to initiate sex through the element of water. It’s playful, fun, erotic, even sacred time between two lovers,” the rep said. “‘Baptism’ is one of the most electric duo scenes released anywhere so far this year.”

Wavey noted that he grew up Catholic and that working on “Sacred Sex” was “a tremendously fulfilling and healing experience.”

Himeros has created several mini-documentaries to accompany the series.

“The first one really sets the tone for the series,” noted the rep. “The ‘Sacred Sex’ shoot was facilitated by ‘Coach Nic.’ The first mini-doc gives you a behind-the-scenes look at Coach Nic, the process at Himeros and the models. The documentaries really convey the intention behind this boundary-pushing project.”

Find the first mini-doc here and on YouTube.

Forthcoming episodes of “Sacred Sex” will feature Ray Dexter, Troye Jacobs, Tomik 9.5 and Jack Valor, among others.

The site is currently offering a 50% discount on new memberships; visit Himeros.tv and follow Davey Wavey on Twitter.

In related news, two recent Himeros titles have been named as official selections of the 2021 San Francisco PornFilmFestival, which screens November 11-28 online and in person, as pandemic safety protocols allow.

Ron Jeremy: Alleged Victims’ Testimony Becomes Available to Press, for a Price

LOS ANGELES — The Associated Press and other mainstream news outlets have started publishing selections from the grand jury testimony by alleged victims against Ron Jeremy, three weeks after the grand jury returned an indictment after a meeting conducted in secrecy and without press present by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office.

XBIZ requested a copy of the transcript from the D.A.’s office and the court and were directed to the court’s Official Reporter, René Evanko, who requested $805 to be sent to her via Venmo for the .pdf of the testimony.

This is apparently standard practice at courthouses in Los Angeles County, several sources have confirmed.

The lack of any possibility to access to the victims’ testimony without paying this exorbitant fee — an amount that dates from the era when paper transcripts had to be laboriously photocopied and collated — adds to the atmosphere of secrecy in which the District Attorney’s office has reported the allegations and details of the stories behind the sexual assault charges.

Jeremy’s attorney, Stuart Goldfarb, has repeatedly complained that he cannot conduct a proper defense without knowing the names of the 21 alleged victims — from the original 23, after two recently dropped from the D.A.’s case — or of the witnesses.

District Attorney Paul Thompson, one of the D.A.s leading the case, fought Goldfarb’s for access to this information since Jeremy was arrested in June 2020, stating repeatedly that Goldfarb would have a chance to review the details “during the preliminary hearing.”

But instead of proceeding with the preliminary hearing, finally scheduled for October, the District Attorney instead convened a grand jury last month without informing the press and gathered the victims’ testimonies there in writing. The transcript of those meetings is the .pdf that now the Official Reporter is offering to press outlets willing to Venmo her $805.

Last Friday, responding to an XBIZ inquiry, a spokesperson for the D.A.’s office admitted that “there will be no preliminary hearing because there is now a grand jury indictment. The victims’ testimony at the grand jury was transcribed and both the prosecution and defense have copies.”

‘Information Not Everyone Knows About’

Today, XBIZ wrote to the court’s Official Reporter, René Evanko, who told XBIZ that the cost for the transcript — “1,526 pages, plus the index, title pages, and certification page” — was “$805 for a copy.”

“I can get you the transcript today if you can Venmo me,” Evanko added. “That is the way the Associated Press received the transcript so quickly.”

Later, Evanko explained via e-mail that “the court transcripts in California belong to the court Reporter, not the court.  I am only permitted to charge what the law allows. Sorry you feel the $805 is absurd. It is what it is and it is not gouging you or any other organization.”

Evanko acknowledged that the steep price to forward a .pdf “is information that not everyone knows about when it comes to court transcripts in California” and warned against attempting to obtain it from someone else.

“California Government Code 69954(d) actually prohibits the sharing of transcripts,” Evanko explained. “I guarantee you it’s not a transparency thing.  California legislation just bars anyone from providing it to you. I know it probably seems frustrating to you, but it’s been that way for as long as I’ve been reporting, which is over 35 years.”

The AP Selects 3 Testimonies from the 21 Victims

Meanwhile, the Associated Press published a report this weekend filed by Andrew Dalton, one of their Entertainment Writers, providing an extremely selective account of some of the accusations on the transcript. The report also lists a writer in Chicago contributing to the report, which is sensationalistically headlined “Women Say They Met Porn Actor Jeremy for Fun; Rape Came Next.”

The incidents selected by the AP for their story include details from only three of the 21 alleged victims, although Dalton also mention some details that “many of the women” apparently testified about:

  • Jane Doe 8: “‘Wouldn’t it be funny if we got a picture and an autograph from him?’ one woman […] said she remembered telling her friend when they saw Jeremy in 2013 at a West Hollywood bar and grill. He would sexually assault her minutes later, testified the woman, one of several who said their attacks came in the same small bathroom.”
  • Jane Doe 7: “‘I was like, wow, you know, this is Ron Jeremy, I mean, I was kind of impressed. I’m like he’s — I don’t want to say “celebrity,” but you know, he kind of was’, said another woman […] when Jeremy came to the door of the Hollywood hotel room she was sharing with friends, where the porn actor would rape her soon after, according to her testimony.”
  • Jane Doe 5: “Some didn’t even recognize him initially, but they came into his orbit because of the air of fame around him. A woman whom Jeremy is charged with sexually assaulting when she was 15 in 2004 said she approached him at a rave he was hosting in Santa Clarita, California. ‘I didn’t know who he was, but I just — everyone told me he was famous so I was excited to meet a celebrity,’ said the woman, now 33. […] After they met, he invited her backstage, where he asked her if she wanted to see ‘something cool,’ then lifted her in the air, put his hand under her skirt and molested her, she said.”

Dalton added some details from the transcript about Jeremy’s alleged m.o.

“He was a popular regular at the Rainbow Bar and Grill on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, where he had permission to use the employee bathroom,” the AP writer described. “He would lure women there by offering to show them the kitchen where the restaurant made its famous pizzas, or by telling them he knew a bathroom they could use when the public restrooms were closed after last call. He would follow them into the small space, lock the door behind them, use his considerable size to block them from leaving, then rape them or engage in other sexual assault, several women testified.”

XBIZ will provide a more detailed account of the allegations against Jeremy as soon as the court Reporter makes it available.
