Alt Erotic Celebrates ‘Golden State Tattoo Expo’ Success

LOS ANGELES — Alt Erotic has announced that its recent exhibit at the Golden State Tattoo Expo in Los Angeles was a success with fans.

Company CEO Ivan said the Alt Erotic booth, which hosted Misha Montana, Evelin Ink, Joshua Gray (aka Duke Daybreak) and Sascha Ink, was one of the most popular at the event.

“All of our hard work paid off, as the team represented our brand in the most unique and wonderful way,” Ivan enthused. “I am so proud of what a small group of people can accomplish when everyone is on the same page. The memories, stories and visuals we captured we plan to share very soon with the world.”

Evilyn Ink echoed Ivan’s excitement.

“The Golden State Tattoo Expo was a complete success. I enjoyed meeting the tattoo artists and clients who passed by our booth, and I appreciate the love and support we all got — everyone welcomed us with open arms,” Ink said. “I’m super-excited for next year.”

A rep noted the Alt Erotic crew “not only took in the extraordinary sights and sounds of the three-day event, which brought together hundreds of tattoo artists and enthusiasts from around the world, but they also shot plenty of footage to share with fans for the brand’s new YouTube channel, Twisted Crowd.

“We captured some fun, crazy and dramatic moments,” Ivan said.

On the show floor, Alt Erotic also made contact with “a variety of talented tattoo artists and shops for future collaboration, as well as other artists from various fields, while generating big buzz as the only adult company in attendance,” the rep added.

Montana noted the studio “proved that we are not only a force to be reckoned with in the porn world, but also a refreshing, respected, unique addition to the tattoo community. We have incredible artists and performers that work tirelessly to commit to their brands and to the team, and we had a lot of fun meeting fans and introducing them to sex and tattooing simultaneously.”

“It was an honor to be there, and I can’t thank our team and Golden State enough for having us. We are already working on the next convention, and plan to become more of a presence within the community,” she added.

Jamaican-Owned Adult Store Caters to Female ‘Euphoria’

Jamaican-Owned Adult Store Caters to Female 'Euphoria'

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican-owned adult store Cloud 9 Pleasures has been featured this week by local news site Loop.

The article highlighted how the retailer is revolutionizing local culture by offering online-only, same-day delivery services of pleasure products.

“Sex toys are something that can really help you explore your gender and your sexuality, but you can also get them at affordable prices, and that’s what I try to give my customers — pleasure at affordable rates,” owner Sekou Davis told Loop.

“My clientele is mostly female and I wanted them to experience that euphoria women can relate to,” Davis added. “The response to the products has been great. I wanted to find a niche market that caters to women — they tend to spend more on their needs or wants versus men.”

Davis told Loop that the ratio of women to men is “about 70/30” and that he serves as “personal shopper” to select customers through one-on-one Zoom calls.

Cloud 9 Pleasures’ biggest sellers are the Rose Toy, the Soul Snatcher and the Wand.

FSC Hires Lobbyists to Represent Adult Industry in DC

FSC Hires Lobbyists to Represent Adult Industry in DC

WASHINGTON — Free Speech Coalition (FSC) has hired Washington, D.C. lobbying firm Clarity Consulting to develop relationships in Congress and other public policy centers that would allow adult industry concerns to be heard in matters that directly affect the sector.

Key issues that FSC has been concerned with include Section 230 reform, attempts to revive state and corporate censorship and obscenity prosecutions, state regulation of adult content and sex worker rights, among others.

According to a report this week by D.C. news site Politico, the two Clarity Consulting lobbyists engaged by FSC are Keith Nelson, described as “a former Republican Hill staffer and Bush White House alumnus” and Shawn Delaney, described as “a longtime lobbyist with Democratic ties.”

Politico claims that the announcement means FSC “became the first group to register to lobby on behalf of the porn industry in Washington.”

Nelson told Politico he has already “been meeting with lawmakers and their staff to address what he called ‘a huge vacuum of information’ about the adult entertainment industry.” Lawmakers, he added, have tended to “assume the worst” when dealing with the sector.

FSC Director of Public Affairs Mike Stabile told XBIZ that, to many, “the adult industry is still treated like a novelty act, not deserving of rights, or even access to the legislators whose salaries our taxes fund. I’m glad that we’re finally being listened to, but it shouldn’t be an uphill battle.”

“We’re not only a billion-dollar industry, we’re a powerful and important cultural force — and at the vanguard of the battle for free speech,” Stabile noted. “Washington may not expect to take us seriously, but they’re about to learn that they have to.”

Patreon Updates Rules for Adult Content Creators

Patreon Updates Rules for Adult Content Creators

SAN FRANCISCO — Patreon released on Sunday an official “Creator Policy Engagement Update” for adult content creators using the subscription platform.

“We’ve planned our September 23 policy livestream to prioritize questions about Patreon’s adult/18+ policy because we received dozens of questions from adult/18+ creators through this engagement program,” the company announced through their in-house blog. “The topic is also particularly timely because payment processing networks like Mastercard have recently established procedures that affect platforms like ours which host adult/18+ content.”

The Patreon statement on adult content policies states:

First, to be clear: Patreon will continue to support adult/18+ content that is within our guidelines and we have no plans to ban this category of content. It’s important to us that adult/18+ creators can continue earning income on Patreon. To that end, we want to be open with you about Mastercard’s new standards, and of course, we’ll share the creator-first updates we make to fulfill them.

Here’s what Mastercard’s new requirements will involve:

  • Consent Documentation: Mastercard will require adult/18+ creators to document that any real people featured in their content are adults who have consented to the content’s creation and distribution.
  • Age & Identity Verification: Mastercard will also require adult/18+ creators to confirm their date of birth and identity by providing a form of government-issued identification. We will begin this process with new adult/18+ creator signups before expanding it to adult/18+ creators who have already launched on Patreon, and will share additional details accordingly.

We understand these requirements can feel overwhelming, which is why in the coming weeks and months, we’ll be rolling out tools and procedures to make the process as easy as possible.

Patreon also invited adult/18+ creators to contact them with feedback as to what resources or education they may need by emailing creatorpolicy@patreon.com or by visiting their Discord channel #policy-live-Q4-2021.
