Svakom Rolls Out App-Controlled ‘Iker’ Plug

Svakom Rolls Out App-Controlled 'Iker' Plug

LOS ANGELES — Svakom is touting the release of its “new and powerful” app-controlled Iker, described as “a stylish plug full of functions, angles and technology.”

A rep noted “the eternal elegance of matte black ultra-soft silicone wrapping a pair of powerful motors [offering] two very different functions that can be controlled simultaneously or independently, providing a much broader play experience.”

Product highlights include an ergonomic design and a pulsating feature on the longer, insertable end of the toy, which is the first in its category to receive such a function from Svakom. “It is quite intense and pleasant,” observed the rep.

Vibrations from the motor at the bottom of the toy in conjunction with the pulsating feature create “an intense and unexpected sensation.”

The Svakom app, available in Google Play and Apple’s App Store, is “very easy to use and creates a unique environment to interact with the Iker either alone or with a partner and from the same room or on the other side of the globe,” the rep added.

The Iker offers five levels of pulsation and seven levels of vibration; it is 100% waterproof and USB-rechargeable.

Apple Unveils Plan to Scan All iPhones to Determine if Adult Content is Illegal

CUPERTINO, Calif. — Apple briefed academics this week about their plans to install software in iPhones sold in the U.S. “to scan for child abuse imagery.”

The initiative was reported today by Financial Times, after speaking to people briefed on Apple’s plans, “raising alarm among security researchers who warn that it could open the door to surveillance of millions of people’s personal devices.”

Apple’s proposed system, neuralMatch, would “proactively alert a team of human reviewers if it believes illegal imagery is detected, who would then contact law enforcement if the material can be verified.”

Financial Times confirmed that “the scheme will initially roll out only in the US.”

Security researchers told the financial publication that while they may be “supportive of efforts to combat child abuse,” they are nevertheless “concerned that Apple risks enabling governments around the world to seek access to their citizens’ personal data, potentially far beyond its original intent.”

‘An Absolutely Appalling Idea’

Ross Anderson, professor of security engineering at the University of Cambridge, called neuralMatch “an absolutely appalling idea, because it is going to lead to distributed bulk surveillance of  […] our phones and laptops.”

Researchers point out that “although the system is currently trained to spot child sex abuse, it could be adapted to scan for any other targeted imagery and text, for instance, terror beheadings or anti-government signs at protests, say researchers. Apple’s precedent could also increase pressure on other tech companies to use similar techniques.”

Matthew Green, a security professor at Johns Hopkins University, warned about the expansive implications of such a technology.

“This will break the dam — governments will demand it from everyone,” Green noted.

Financial Times described the intrusive nature of the new technology as “Apple’s neuralMatch algorithm will continuously scan photos that are stored on a US user’s iPhone and have also been uploaded to its iCloud back-up system. Users’ photos, converted into a string of numbers through a process known as ‘hashing,’ will be compared with those on a database of known images of child sexual abuse.”

How the Algorithm Was Trained

Whether this private system thinks an image on a user’s computer is legal or illegal will be based on how Apple decided to set up the algorithm. In this case, FT reported, “the system has been trained on 200,000 sex abuse images collected by the US non-profit National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.”

“According to people briefed on the plans, every photo uploaded to iCloud in the US will be given a ‘safety voucher’ saying whether it is suspect or not,” the report added. “Once a certain number of photos are marked as suspect, Apple will enable all the suspect photos to be decrypted and, if apparently illegal, passed on to the relevant authorities.”

The report does not specify what the safeguards would be in case of a mistake or “false positive,” when the algorithm identifies a piece of legal content as CSAM and law enforcement is compelled to act, or who would have liability for a life-and-reputation destroying misidentification.

Maitland Ward Lands 1st XBIZ World Sole Cover Spotlight

LOS ANGELES — Maitland Ward is the cover star for the August issue of XBIZ World, the first time a performer has taken over the entire cover of the magazine in its 23-year history.

“Posing provocatively in a strappy black micro-mini, and holding a sledgehammer as a spotlight shines on her from above, the stunning redhead breaks ground in a smashing 10-page pictorial and Q&A interview with Managing Editor Alejandro Freixes, revealing a candid and down-to-earth spirit who has come a long way since her days as a bubbly, straightlaced film and TV actress,” a rep enthused.

The feature opens as Ward recalls her childhood as “a good girl” in Long Beach, California.

“A lot of people are very sexual right away in life, yet I’m like a lobster, and the pot started boiling over the years… and soon I was fully boiled,” she said. “I wasn’t so in touch with my sexuality as a teenager, or even my early twenties. It took me a while to get to this place where I am.”

As an adult, Ward landed roles on the soap opera “The Bold & the Beautiful” and the sitcom “Boy Meets World” as well as the feature film “White Chicks.”

She also “came to find her sexual self-expression through writing erotica, fantasy cosplay and eventually adult film work,” said the rep.

“I loved acting and thought, ‘Why can’t I act? Why can’t I really act in something and have sex in it?’ And that’s what I really wanted to do,” revealed Ward.

The performer is now an exclusive contract star for Vixen Media Group; she recently signed a book deal with Simon & Schuster for her memoir and will produce and star in “The Big Time,” an adult-influenced mainstream television series.

“There’s just so much ahead that I’m excited about… people should be really proud of the adult businesses that they’ve made, and I think that the time is really coming where you can be both loud and proud about it in mainstream,” Ward said. “It’s an awesome industry, adult entertainment, that I’m just so excited to be a part of. I have absolutely loved my time and all the respect it’s given me. I will never, ever forget that.”

BERLIN — Lustery has announced the launch of this month’s Beyond the Bedroom”campaign with a free video on their site as well as articles on their blog and social media.

Promoting the hashtag #beyondthebedroom, Lustery aims to show “that the places in which we have sex can be as varied and exciting as the ways in which we get it on.”

Throughout August, the site will publish five Beyond the Bedroom videos, one on each Sunday, where Lustery couples will leave their bedrooms and bring their lustfulness to various places — from sex in the nature, to a Tesla quickie, and one couple will even join the Mile High Club.

“We’re doing our bit not to help rewrite the script for desire but to throw it out completely — this is your sex, your way!” said a rep.

Lustery “wants to provide some inspiration for people who don’t want keep their sex lives strictly to the bedroom,” the rep continued. “Thanks to relaxed coronavirus restrictions, we can finally aim for greater satisfaction in our relationships and sex lives by venturing outside and feeling the ultimate freedom. But many people struggle with coming up with ideas where they could get intimate. As always, Lustery is at your service!”

Sex #beyondthebedroom, the rep explained, “is as hot to watch as it is to try — so see the sights (if you can tear your eyes away from the gorgeous couples) and experience lust as it happens, and wherever it happens, with Lustery’s couples sharing inspiration and intensity in equal parts.”

Lustery’s co-founder Paulita Pappel added that “taking sex outside of the bedroom is a way of celebrating sexuality without shame, and bringing the conversation around it to the public sphere. Always and only in a safe and consensual manner, of course.”

The promotion’s free NSFW threesome video by real-life couple Maria and Zee shows them sneaking out to a scenic olive grove and show us their love outdoors, and is available here until the end of August.

Anti-Porn Crusader Rebrands as ‘Non-Religious,’ Instigates Civil Lawsuits

LOS ANGELES — Leading anti-porn crusader Laila Mickelwait — until last year a mouthpiece for the religious ministry Exodus Cry — has completed her rebranding with the full launch of a website called “Justice Defense Fund,” promoting “civil litigation and legislation” against adult content websites.

Mickelwait had curiously omitted mentions to her ministry Exodus Cry for several months and public records showed that late last year she incorporated herself as “Justice Defense Fund” through a PO Box in a Colorado strip mall.

Late in December, Twitter suspended an account at someone’s request, claiming that the information about this supposed non-profit of which Mickelwait claims to be “the CEO” was private. Her incorporation to receive donations under that name, however, was public record, and she is noted as a public figure as an anti-porn crusader and political campaigner.

Today, Mickelwait used her personal Twitter account to direct people who had had issues with online billing to the website for a class action suit organized by the firm Kaliel Gold. The lawyers promoted by Mickelwait ask potential plaintiffs, “Did you sign up for a free trial of an adult entertainment website, only to be charged for a full membership without warning? Did you have difficulties canceling your recurring membership? If yes, fill out the form on this page for a free lawsuit claim review.”

‘The Truth is Like a Lion’

Earlier this year Mickelwait was invited to testify before U.S. Congress and failed to file a disclosure notice required before her testimony, outlining her affiliation and conflicts of interest. XBIZ contacted the congress members who appeared to have invited her and allowed her to present herself as “an expert” without filing that form, but received no reply.

Much like other anti-porn crusaders with clear religious inspiration and background, Mickelwait is now actively rebranding as “non-religious,” claiming right on top of her website that her supposed non-profit “Justice Defense Fund” is “a non-partisan, non-religious organization dedicated to empowering survivors of sex trafficking, child sexual abuse material (previously known as ‘child pornography’) and image-based sexual abuse to pursue justice through sustainable, strategic litigation funding. We also advocate for the adoption of laws that prevent sexual abuse and provide recourse to victims.”

A prominent button compels people to “donate” to Mickelwait through this new non-profit. The very small print states that “JDF is a non-profit 501c3 organization EIN 85-1451255. All donations are tax deductible.”

Although Mickelwait deliberately obscures her religious motivation during public appearances and in this new endeavor as agenda-motivated legal coordinator matching law firms with anti-porn activism, her Twitter bio still leads with a quote by noted Christian proselytizer St. Augustine, “The truth is like a lion. Let it loose. It will defend itself.”

Consistent with her new stealth strategy about disclosing her religious motivation, Mickelwait has left the quote up, but notedly has omitted the name of the 4th-century saint and propagandist who invented the doctrine of “original sin” and is ideologically responsible for centuries of shame-based Christian notions around sexuality.

Ron Jeremy’s Preliminary Hearing Now Postponed to October

LOS ANGELES — The preliminary hearing for the Los Angeles trial of Ron Jeremy for multiple counts of sexual assault has been once again postponed at the request of the defense, until October 25.

Jeremy’s attorney, Stuart Goldfarb, and District Attorney Paul Thompson, had agreed in March to begin the preliminary hearing today, but Goldfarb filed a request for another continuance a few weeks ago, according to sources familiar with the case documents.

The same sources said they expect no more delays and that the lengthy preliminary hearing should begin in October.

Goldfarb has insisted for over a year that he cannot properly prepare for the preliminary hearing without having access to the names and addresses of the 23 victims and 50-plus witnesses that the DA office intends to produce.

Sexual assault cases have special discovery rules designed to protect the safety of the victims; the defense is requesting those special rules to be relaxed to identify the individuals behind the assault allegations in order to answer them.

Goldfarb filed a writ of appeal intending to obtain that information, but it was not taken up by the 2nd Circuit.

Jeremy was arrested and charged with the first batch of charges on June 22, 2020. He was arraigned and pled “not guilty” that week. His bail was set to $6.6 million and he has remained in jail since that date.

The criminal case summary now shows 35 counts. If convicted, Jeremy faces a possible maximum sentence of more than 330 years to life in state prison.

During a late-August 2020 hearing, Deputy DA Thompson of the Sex Crimes Division added 20 more charges to the original eight. During the last hearing, on October 28, 2020 the DA’s office filed seven additional sexual assault counts involving six additional victims and spanning from 1996 to 2020. The case against Jeremy was then amended to add three counts of forcible rape, two counts of forcible oral copulation and one count each of sexual battery by restraint and assault with intent to commit forcible digital penetration.

The crimes alleged against Jeremy add up to: 11 counts of forcible rape, eight counts of sexual battery by restraint, six counts of forcible oral copulation, five counts of forcible penetration by a foreign object and one count each of sodomy, assault with intent to commit rape, assault with intent to commit forcible digital penetration, penetration by a foreign object on an unconscious or sleeping victim and lewd conduct with a 15-year old girl.

The incidents now involve 23 victims.

Jeremy has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
