DeAngelo Jackson Doc ‘Being Black in Porn’ to Debut Trailer This Weekend

LOS ANGELES — A trailer for the forthcoming DeAngelo Jackson documentary “Being Black in Porn” will premiere on the Noir Male Instagram profile this weekend to commemorate Juneteenth. The film centers Dillon Diaz, Rock Rockafella, reigning XBIZ “Gay Performer of the Year” Max Konnor and Jackson, who serves as the narrator and executive producer.

Jackson, an exclusive for Noir Male, is a three-time nominee for XBIZ “Gay Performer of the Year.”

His film follows the lives of four gay men of color “as they navigate their way in the competitive and often complicated adult film industry,” a rep explained.

“Through interviews with the men in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles,” added the rep, “the film examines their unique experiences, including their encounters with racism, such as being cast in servant roles or as thugs; facing white performers who refuse to perform with them because of the color of their skin; stereotypes, such as when Black talent are expected to have large penises and are made to bottom when they do not; and inequality — though ‘BBC’ is one of the most-searched terms in porn, Black actors report making less money than their white counterparts.”

“In addition to their time behind the camera, ‘Being Black in Porn’ delves into the personal lives of the men, exploring the impact their careers have on their real worlds, on social media and in the global #BlackLivesMatter movement,” the rep said.

In addition to narrating and his duties as an executive producer, Jackson hand-selected the cast.

“I had to share this story,” he said. “I had to do this for my fellow brothers and sisters in the entire adult industry. I learned early on that if we don’t stand for something, we will fall for anything.”

Director and Co-Executive Producer Dwight Allen O’Neal noted “our favorite porn stars have the same struggles as all working professionals.”

“Our hope is that our documentary creates a better understanding of these men and sends a message to everyone inside and outside of adult film that #BlackLivesMatter everywhere, in everything and within every industry,” he said.

“Being Black in Porn” will receive distribution from Mile High Media and was produced in association with Novo Novus Productions and Noir Male.

In related news, Jackson will headline Dallas Southern Pride at the Sheraton Suites Market Center this weekend; find additional details here.

GirlsDoPorn Recruiter and Male Talent Sentenced to 20 Years

SAN DIEGO — GirlsDoPorn (GDP) recruiter and male talent Ruben Andre “Dre” Garcia was sentenced yesterday to 20 years after pleading guilty to sex trafficking charges against him in the case that also involves the site’s fugitive owner, Michael Pratt, and others.

Garcia had pleaded guilty in federal court on December 20, 2020 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jill L. Burkhardt to the charges of Conspiracy to Commit Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud and Coercion, and Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud and Coercion.

Garcia will be eligible “for supervised release from 10 years following the completion of his custodial term,” reported the San Diego Fox affiliate.

A number of Garcia’s victims spoke before sentencing judge, U.S. District Judge Janis Sammartino, during the hearing, which had been delayed since February 12.

Judge Sammartino described Garcia as “without question,” one of “the leaders behind the scheme she described as ‘malicious’ and ‘callous,’ and said the victims were treated as ‘disposable commodities,’” Fox 5 reported, adding that her sentence exceeded the terms proposed by both the prosecution and the defense.

Garcia’s boss, GDP owner Michael Pratt, has been a fugitive from U.S. federal authorities since late 2019 and was last presumed to be in his native New Zealand over a year ago. Pratt left the country before the October 2019 trial for the civil lawsuit filed by 22 former models suing GDP for fraud.

The civil trial — which was decided against Pratt and GDP with a multimillion-dollar award to the plaintiffs — was overshadowed during the testimony phase by the unsealing of a parallel criminal case and FBI investigation against Pratt and his associates and employees for conspiracy and sex trafficking.

The federal indictment, issued January 2019, named Pratt, Garcia, Matthew Wolfe, Theodore “Teddy” Gyi, Valorie Moser and Amberlyn Clark as co-conspirators in the GDP operation.

“This defendant was a key player in a despicable fraud that has devastated the victims,” said U.S. Attorney Robert Brewer in December 2020. “We will continue to fight for justice for them, and to prevent others from becoming victims of these schemes.”

Cybersocket Acquired by NSFW.Army

SEATTLE — Cybersocket, Inc. has concluded an agreement with NSFW.Army for the purchase of all Cybersocket sites, products, brands and intellectual property.

Today’s announcement follows the recent acquisition of Fleshbot.com by NSFW.Army, the team behind Cherry Pimps.

“Being one of the caretakers of Cybersocket and being heavily involved in the LGBT adult digital and print space for 25 years has been a true privilege,” Co-Founder Morgan Sommer said. “[Co-Founder] Tim Lutz and I have both reached places in life where we feel that it’s time to allow Cybersocket to grow in new ways and under new leadership. One of the hardest things to do as an entrepreneur is to recognize when you are what is holding your company back from reaching its potential.”

“We feel confident that the team at NSFW.Army has a vision, the resources and the knowledge to take what we have built and make it even better,” he concluded.

A rep noted Cybersocket and all related properties will receive “a thorough redesign and complete refresh.”

Industry vet Theresa “Darklady” Reed has been “contracted as Channel Manager of the site and related properties,” the rep said. “Any past or present Cybersocket partners are asked to reach out if they have not been contacted yet to see how partnered companies can continue working together.”

NSFW.Army principal Eric praised Cybersocket’s legacy; the brand celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2022.

“When we began reviewing available opportunities, Cybersocket was the type of brand you just can’t pass on,” he said. “Being an icon in the LGBT community for so long enables us to continue and broaden our expansion while paying homage to the brand that Morgan and Tim spent years creating.”

WOW Tech Issues Statement Concerning ‘Pleasure Air Tech’ Patent

WOW Tech Issues Statement Concerning 'Pleasure Air Tech' Patent

BERLIN — WOW Tech Group released today an official statement regarding their patent for Pleasure Air Tech.

The company’s statement follows:

WOW Tech created the market for Pleasure Air Technology stimulation devices with innovative technology that is covered by a worldwide portfolio of patents.

We are aware that some competitors from time-to-time tout having one or more patents for technology they use in some of their products. We urge retailers and distributors to recognize this does not mean the competitor is not infringing WOW Tech patents. Patents by their nature have different scopes but can also overlap in certain ways, making it possible for a product covered by one patent to also infringe another patent. Indeed, when the Patent Office issues a new patent, it does not consider whether or not existing commercial products covered by that patent also infringe other patents. This means the issuance of a new patent is not any kind of guarantee that a company’s product does not infringe another patent.

We take patent infringement seriously and we are committed to holding patent infringers responsible for violating our valuable intellectual property rights. Anyone who makes, uses, sells, offers for sale or imports products that infringe one or more of WOW Tech’s patents could be held liable for patent infringement, regardless of whether those infringing products are also covered by other patents.

Retailers and distributors who are told that a product does not infringe one company’s patents may therefore be better served by seeking written assurance and maybe even indemnification from the company claiming innocence. The fact that an accused infringer has its own separate patent does not mean that accused infringer (or its retailers or distributors) cannot be found liable for infringing another company’s patents.

Adam & Eve Releases Latest Adult Content Viewing Stats

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Adam & Eve has released their latest statistics on adult content viewing.

The web-based survey of over 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, conducted by an independent third party survey company, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices.

When asked if they ever view adult content, 57% of the respondents (68% of men and 48% of women) said they did.

“Many people view adult content, both on their own or with their partner,” said Dr. Jenni Skyler, resident sexologist at Adam & Eve. “Watching alone can be a way to access easy arousal, while couples may watch together to share fantasies and create more intimacy. The content, as well as the length of viewing, differs from person to person. I believe what’s most important is that viewers feel they are in a healthy relationship with their adult content.”

Chad Davis, director of marketing for Adam & Eve, said the company “encourages adults to explore their sexuality within their own comfort levels and boundaries.”
