2021 TEAs to Broadcast Sunday on Pornhub, Set Official Pre-Show Livestream

LOS ANGELES — The 2021 Transgender Erotica Awards (TEAs), hosted by Domino Presley, will broadcast virtually on Pornhub this Sunday, March 7, at 8 p.m. (PST) with a pre-party livestream hosted by Grooby’s Kristel Penn from 6-7:30 p.m. on TheTEAShow.com.

The 2020 TEAs, hosted by Presley, were the first industry awards show to pivot to an online presentation in the wake of the pandemic lockdowns.

“Although nothing will ever replace the unique experience of attending an in-person event, we believe we still channeled the spirit of the TEAs with our virtual show,” said Penn, who is the ceremony’s executive producer. “Special thanks go to our presenting sponsor, Pornhub, for hosting the show on their massive platform. Because of them, the TEAs will reach an exponentially larger audience.”

Penn offered additional praise for Presley and her skills as an emcee.

“Despite the limitations of COVID and the complexity of putting together a virtual event, Domino handles the show with the same kind of magnetic command we’ve seen at our live shows,” Penn added. “She really pulls the whole thing together and I think fans, new and old, will enjoy themselves.”

Iran: Alexis Texas’ Appearance in Pop Music Video Prompts Investigation

TEHRAN, Iran — Hardline Iranian authorities have expressed concern about the teaser for a forthcoming music video by Los Angeles-based Iranian pop singer Sasy, denouncing the appearance of adult star Alexis Texas who is seen dancing fully-clothed next to the singer.

The very short teaser for Sasy’s upcoming video for his Persian dance hit “Tehran Tokyo” published on the Iranian Rubika app has “prompted outrage among authorities who have launched an investigation,” the Associated Press reported today.

The Rubika app is being investigated by officials, according to a report by the Tehran government-linked ISNA news agency.

Unlike U.S.-based companies under the much-debated Section 230, Iranian platforms do not appear to have immunity for liability for content uploaded by third parties.

Alexis Texas is seen merely swaying to the song’s beat standing next to Sasy and wearing a short black dress, but the Iranian officials appear to be objecting to her solely based on her occupation as a sex worker, deeming her “an American pornographic actress.”

Underground Music and ‘Soft War’

Sasy is reportedly popular among Iranian teens and the song makes reference to marijuana. His work is “not authorized” in Iran, where he was an “underground singer” until 2009, before emigrating.

“Under Iranian law, foreign-made music, even Persian-language ones, needs permission from authorities,” the AP reported, adding that “under pressure from hardliners, the Iranian government has long blocked access to many websites and social media platforms, from YouTube and Facebook to Twitter and Telegram.”

“Many Iranians, especially youths, access social media through VPNs and proxies,” the report continued. Facebook-owned Instagram and WhatsApp are not blocked, even though there have been calls from religious moralists and hardliners in the government to ban them.

According to a 2019 intelligence paper by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Iranian government believes it is “explicitly engaged in a ‘soft war,’ or jang-e narm, with the West — especially the United States,” which is waged through cultural institutions and propaganda instead of military actions.

Tehran hardliners view Texas’ appearance in Sasy’s video as a deliberate “soft war” provocation.

Reddit CEO: Platform Is ‘Perfectly Supportive’ of ‘Adult Content’

Reddit CEO: Platform Is 'Perfectly Supportive' of 'Adult Content'

SAN FRANCISCO — Reddit CEO Steve Huffman stated during an interview with newsmagazine Axios HBO that his platform is “perfectly supportive” of pornographic content, as long as there’s no involuntary sexualization or sexualization of minors.

In a video posted last week, Huffman answered a direct question posed by Axios HBO’s Chief Technology Correspondent Ina Fried about Reddit’s approach to adult content.

“So, sex is universal,” Huffman began. “And like many topics on Reddit, sex is one of those topics that’s not often well-served online or offline.”

“I think with pornography, you can look at it as exploitative, and indeed much of it is, and that’s not the content that we want on Reddit,” he qualified. “But there’s another aspect that’s empowering. And these are people sharing stories of themselves, pictures of themselves and we are perfectly supportive of that.”

Huffman noted that the company wants “people to be safe.”

“We have rules on Reddit,” he added. “No involuntary sexualization, and if anybody makes those sort of reports to us, we take them very seriously. Obviously, no sexualization of minors — it’s against our rules and the law.”

Clearly differentiating his company from Facebook (which has a longstanding anti-sex stance, even among consenting adults) and Twitter (which tolerates porn although it states it is against their terms of service), Huffman embraced his sex-positive position that “there are difficult decisions to make in this sphere, but we think they are worth making, as opposed to saying ‘no sex at all,’ for example.”

Montana: Bizarre Anti-Porn Bill Killed After Voting Scandal

Montana: Bizarre Anti-Porn Bill Killed After Voting Scandal

MISSOULA — A proposed anti-porn bill by Montana Republicans demanding that “internet companies” can only provide “hard-core pornography” to customers who “opt-in,” and made it a crime for anyone under 18 to access adult material, was defeated on a procedural technicality after the committee chairman admitted he had deliberately prevented Democrats from participating in a previous vote.

“I got frustrated and rammed it through, and that’s not right,” Rep. Derek Skees (R-Kalispell) the Montana House Energy, Technology and Federal Relations Committee chair said yesterday according to a Missoula Current report. “I should not have done that,” he added, “so I offer my apologies to all of the committee, that I led us down that road.”

Yesterday, Skees’ committee voted 9-3 to kill House Bill 492, introduced by Rep. Brad Tschida (R-Missoula).

On Saturday, the bill had been passed 7-0 after Skees admittedly prevented the Democrats, and one Republican, on the committee from voting.

‘I Don’t Have an Excuse’

Skees claims he thought the Democrats, who appeared remotely, were “playing a game with us on Saturday to try block us from having a quorum (on the committee).”

“I didn’t know what was going on,” Skees added, “so I just jumped into the meeting quick, to get us out of here fast, because everyone was wanting to leave [for the weekend].”

On Sunday, GOP House leadership had a meeting with Skees and he decided to reconvene the committee.

“I don’t have any excuse as to why I did it,” Skees remarked.

Yesterday, five Republicans and all four Democrats voted against the bill.

“This would kill how the internet works and take us basically back to a telegraph system, taking us back 100 years,” said Rep. Kelly Kortum (D-Bozeman).

LAPD Insiders Use Ron Jeremy Case to Protest Budget Cuts

LOS ANGELES — LAPD insiders who oppose the 2020 Los Angeles budget reforms — prompted by the killing of George Floyd and the nationwide #BlackLivesMatters protests last summer against several documented incidents of police brutality — began a press campaign this week alleging that the reforms will prevent the department from investigating high-profile cases such as the sexual assault investigation against Ron Jeremy.

In a story leaked to TMZ, and subsequently picked up by other news organizations, anonymous LAPD personnel told the gossip news site that “the elimination of LAPD’s Sex Crimes Unit is going to make investigating high-profile cases — like Harvey Weinstein and Ron Jeremy — much more challenging, if not nearly impossible.”

TMZ headlined the piece “Loss of LAPD’s RHD [Robbery-Homicide Division] Sex Crimes Unit Hurts High-Profile Cases, Cops Say” adding that “cops [are] pissed over its elimination.”

The law enforcement sources blamed “budget cuts and the movement to defund the police department” for the February closure of what the site referred to as “the ‘SVU’-esque division” of the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Divisions.

The LAPD insiders who opposed the measure told TMZ “high-ranking LAPD officers are upset” and “think this is a horrible mistake.”

TMZ also quoted celebrity attorney Gloria Allred, whom lambasted the new budget and opined that “the safety of the community is at risk when sex crimes against women and children no longer appears to be a priority.”

A Publicity Campaign Against Budget Cuts

The LAPD has been engaging in a publicity campaign since November to protest cuts of $150 million to its $3 billion annual budget (including pensions), citing examples like the closure of the sex crime unit — which has massive brand name recognition partly to the ubiquity of the “Law & Order” TV franchise — and referring to high-profile investigations like the Jeremy and Weinstein cases.

In late June, following the #BlackLivesMatter protests, the L.A. City Council on Wednesday voted to cut $150 million out of the Los Angeles Police Department’s $1.8 billion operating budget, and planned to reinvest the funds in marginalized communities.

The cuts that the LAPD insiders are protesting by planting anonymous TMZ items — concerning Ron Jeremy’s and Harvey Weinstein’s cases and “Law & Order: SVU” to bank on the name recognition — are less than 10% of the department’s operating budget and less than 5% of their overall budget, including pensions.

Different Law Enforcement Entities

Despite of the claims by these anonymous LAPD officers to TMZ, the Ron Jeremy investigation was initially spearheaded by other law enforcement entities: the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office and the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department.

The Weinstein investigation was also conducted by the Entertainment Industry Sex Crimes Task Force. That task force was formed by former Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey in 2017 to investigate sexual misconduct allegations in the entertainment industry, after receiving criticism concerning her office’s handling of the Harvey Weinstein allegations.

Although at some point news sources referred to at least 40 investigations being handled by the task force, from 2017 until the week of Ron Jeremy’s arrest in June 2020, Lacey’s task force had only pursued charges against one defendant — Harvey Weinstein.

The Weinstein charges were announced by Lacey on January 6, 2020, in a press conference that coincided with renewed public appearances for her current re-election campaign. The Jeremy arrest was announced immediately following the #BlackLivesMatter protests but Lacey’s lack of crucial political endorsements for the election contributed to her eventual loss to George Gascón.

A few days prior to Jeremy’s arrest, a second case connected to a Task Force investigation, that of mainstream producer and agent David Guillod, was filed by the Santa Barbara District Attorney.
