Bluesky Verification Service ‘BSky Verified’ Launches

Bluesky Verification Service 'BSky Verified' Launches

LOS ANGELES — “And Now We Drink” podcast host Matt Slayer has launched BSky Verified, a third-party service that vets adult performers, content creators, and other notable people, providing a customized domain for handles on the Bluesky social media platform.

The decentralized platform has recently seen a surge in users migrating from X.com following the U.S. election but does not provide a service similar to the former Twitter’s Blue Checkmark verification system. BSky Verified was created to help celebrities, particularly in the adult industry, avoid imposter accounts.

“BSky Verified performs due diligence to actually verify users’ identity and then employs Bluesky’s built-in verification system to assign unique handles that cannot be copied,” said a rep. “Only verified users can receive any ‘bskyverified.social’ handle.”

Slayer elaborated on the service’s process.

“When a user receives a bskyverified.social handle, it is verified through our website,” he said. “If we determine that you meet eligibility criteria, you need not send us any sensitive documents. We schedule a Zoom call to ensure that you are indeed the person that you claim to be, and we onboard you into the system during the call. It’s that straightforward.”
