On the Set: Charlotte Sins Channels Her Inner ‘Slutwoman’ for Elegant Angel Showcase

Charlotte Sins is eating a Nutter Butter before the first double anal scene of her career.

Given the name of the snack, it’s a choice that feels either incredibly brave or incredibly funny. Either way, Sins is into it.

In just a few minutes, she’ll step in front of the cameras for one of the biggest moments of her career – becoming the latest performer to inherit the mantle of Slutwoman, the long-running Elegant Angel showcase franchise. Around her, the set hums with pre-shoot energy as crew members make final adjustments, cameras are queued up, and co-stars Derek Kage and Christian Wilde wander the set in leather pants.

For Sins, it’s just another day at the office.

“Charlotte Sins is Slutwoman” hails from director Ricky Greenwood, who is stepping into the world of gonzo for the first time after building a reputation as a multi-XMA-winning narrative filmmaker. Joining him is fellow director and purveyor of the genre, Jonni Darkko, serving as director of photography.

As Greenwood set out to put his own stamp on the franchise, he knew the latest installment would ultimately rise or fall on its star.

“Elegant Angel gave me a list, but I was more interested in finding a talent who has been working her ass off and never had the breakthrough she should have,” says Greenwood. “I came up with my own list of performers who deserve a showcase, and Charlotte was the one I thought deserved a bigger spotlight to prove what she can do.”

Sins is the 10th performer to play Slutwoman, last portrayed by Kenna James. She says the opportunity represents something bigger than a showcase.

“It’s really cool to do a performer showcase that’s geared towards being a slut,” says Sins. “That’s what we’re all here for, right? To be a porn star is to be the ultimate slut, and this role allows me to showcase those skills. It’s a really big honor that’s been bestowed upon me.”

Origin Stories and Superpowers

Before the lights, camera, and leather pants, Greenwood and Sins sat down to discuss what milestones remained on her on-screen bucket list.

As it turns out, there weren’t many.

“It was kind of a short list,” she admitted, “so we settled on double anal.”

And despite the significance of the moment, Sins didn’t let pre-shoot jitters get the best of her.

“I was more nervous for blowbang/gangbang day, and we shot that first, which I was really happy about because the whole idea was to do the hardest scene first so the rest would feel like a breeze. I’ve never done double anal before, but I have taken gigantic dicks in my ass, and if I can take Dredd’s, I can take two normal-sized dicks pretty easily.”

Her confidence comes thanks in part to preparation, as Sins has something of a carefully curated self-care ritual she follows before a big anal scene.

“It’s quite the process,” she laughs, though she says she doesn’t include a lot of stretching because it can be counterintuitive if you show up to set with a sore ass.

“I learned pretty early on that extreme anal scenes are mostly mental, and it’s all about relaxing and easing into it. So I’m just going to take a big, deep breath and hope those two dicks slide in nice and easy.”

Along with the double anal scene featuring Kage and Wilde, whom Sins personally selected, her showcase includes a blowbang and gangbang featuring 14 performers, including Vince Karter, Christian Clay, and Cody Steele, as well as an all-girl anal scene with close friends Ivy Ireland and Katrina Colt. One of Sins’ closest friends also served as a fluffer during the blowbang.

Today’s shoot unfolds in a nondescript building overlooking MacArthur Park, nestled between Koreatown and Downtown LA. From the outside, there’s little indication that Slutwoman’s secret lair is hidden behind the walls.

Before shooting begins, Sins poses for photos, then sits down for an on-camera interview. Soon, Kage and Wilde join her. Kage credits Sins with helping him break into the straight side of the business after primarily working in gay and trans productions, while Wilde says he feels honored to be part of her first double anal scene.

That excitement extends behind the camera as well, because for Greenwood, the project represents an opportunity to experiment with a format that has fascinated him for years.

“When I direct a feature, the goal is to tell an interesting story with good acting and good sex,” he says.

“Gonzo is more mysterious. I can’t be behind your ear telling you what to do, so I’m letting Darkko create and get into his zone so he can do his thing. I picked the talent, clothes, and location, but Darkko is the secret ingredient, so now it’s time to cook.”

Not All Heroes Wear Capes

As Greenwood and Darkko prepare to start shooting, Sins arrives on set wearing white cuffs on her wrists, a silver choker around her neck, and a black-and-white pair of leather stiletto boots.

“The goal was to make Charlotte look wet and dewy,” says the shoot’s makeup artist, Elena, using eyeshadow to add silver streaks to Sins’ long black hair to match her shoes and wardrobe.

“I added silver because it’s reflective, and I like how it looks when it’s wet. It complements the wet hair and eyes, and brings out their full effect,” says Elena, who credits wardrobe stylist Eastern for choosing Sins’ various outfits, calling the starlet’s look “a collaboration.”

Darkko guides the talent as Greenwood looks on, joined by his frequent DP, Matt Holder, and customary crew members Shaun Rivera, TJ Westwood, and Manny Bucks; Deacon White, who works with Darkko; and David, the caterer, who prepared a lunch of curry, rice, and potatoes.

A plush gray couch sits in the middle of the room, and Sins begins crawling over it, her black lingerie clinging to her curves like a second skin. Kage and Wilde, who have been keeping themselves hard off-camera, enter the frame, where Wilde quickly grabs Sins’ ass, his black-gloved hand sliding across her inner thigh.

“I’m gonna be a greedy fucking slut today,” Sins announces before launching into the scene.

As the action heats up, Darkko chimes in with a quick note from behind the camera.

“You’re looking up at the guys. Look down at the camera,” he tells her, as Sins promptly adjusts.

The collaborative rhythm quickly sets in. Performers adapt, crew members fine-tune angles, and, before long, Elena’s carefully applied makeup begins to smudge. Hair sticks to Sins’ cheeks, and her look becomes increasingly tousled as the scene unfolds.

As Darkko instructs Kage to position Sins’ face more toward the camera, she takes the opportunity to rehydrate, taking swigs from an almost comically large water bottle.

“I’m just gonna bring the biggest water bottle with me wherever I go, and everyone’s gonna have to deal with it because it’s my personality now,” jokes Sins, before getting right back into character.

“I need those fucking dicks stretching out my holes at the same time,” she yells.

Scenes like this are as physical as they are performative. Between takes, Darkko tweaks positions and angles while performers adapt on the fly. A stiletto heel finds its way into one shot, while another position proves tough on Sins’ hip.

“We’re only going to be here for a few minutes. Can you push through it?” Darkko asks in an encouraging tone.

Ever the trooper, Sins agrees.

As the camera keeps rolling, Darkko encourages the cast to stay energized while searching for new angles.

“I’ve got quite a curve, but I’ll make it work,” says Kage, before repositioning.

A short while later, he laments, “My legs are giving out, I’m sorry,” as they cut shooting.

It’s a stark reminder that behind every steamy scene is an enormous amount of coordination, endurance, and teamwork.

The Secret Sauce

As things wind down on set, Sins reflects on the appeal of gonzo, pointing to the genre’s ability to surprise audiences.

“Gonzo is all about the ‘wow’ factor and getting people’s jaws to drop on the floor,” she says, referencing a milk enema she once saw in a porn film.

“I would’ve made a great circus freak in another life because I love shocking people and doing crazy things. With gonzo, there’s no scenario, but there’s still a level of choreography, just as there is with almost every porn scene, so you can still be creative.”

For Kage, successful gonzo comes down to the performers’ willingness to embrace the raw, primal nature of the scene rather than go through the motions, and to be hyper-aware of the camera so it captures as much penetration as possible.

When directing his own gonzo scenes, Darkko encourages “primal” aggression on camera and makes a point of saying he never tells anyone they can’t do something. Today, however, Darkko is the cinematographer, not the one sitting in the director’s chair.

The playfully combative spirit between Darkko and Greenwood has become something of a running joke in the industry, with people often playing up a friendly rivalry between the two filmmakers.

“It’s funny that people have made it a thing,” Darkko laughs. “I kind of like it because I don’t have any beef with him whatsoever. We’ve chatted a bunch, and I’ve always liked him. We just razz each other, you know? He says shit like, ‘Oh, you’re shooting on a white couch. How original.’ And then I’ll be like, ‘Well, maybe if your black levels weren’t pegged to the fucking ground, people could see what’s happening in your movies.'”

By day’s end, Sins has added another first to her résumé, Greenwood has taken another step into the world of gonzo, and Elegant Angel’s newest Slutwoman installment is nearly ready to take flight.

Most importantly, everyone on set seems to have had a blast getting there.

“If nothing else, it’s been fun to hang out on set with Darkko,” Greenwood concludes. “I can’t wait to see how people react to the movie and Charlotte’s work here. She’s amazing.”
