CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. — Noted community activist and gay adult producer Scott Morris (aka Robert Todd Fulton), 68, passed away on Friday at his home following a yearlong battle with an aggressive form of tongue cancer.

“Scott brought joy, humor and happiness to all those around him and was truly one-of-a-kind. I’m going to miss him like crazy,” recalled ZBuckz owner Danny Z, who alerted industry colleagues to the news.

He described Morris as “a close friend, business partner and mentor.”

A longtime community activist and organizer, Morris co-founded pro/am studio Factory Video in 1998, which spawned a wide array of niche labels — among them Blue Alley Productions, Factory Bareback, Threshold Media, Pumphouse and Street Trade — as well as an ahead-of-its-time social networking site for fans of specialized content.

“We want to help [niche] fans… find each other and [it’s] another way we’ve come full circle,” Morris told XBIZ in 2010, on the occasion of Factory’s 12th anniversary.

Several years earlier, he noted that Factory prides itself on “serving our customers and our models first.”

“We want our models to be able to express themselves in a way that reflects the sex that they really enjoy,” he said. “So, we direct with only the minimum of control. The models just have the sex they enjoy the most.”

AMSTERDAM — An Amsterdam court on Wednesday ordered the Cyprus-based xHamster to either obtain consent from every Netherlands-based amateur model featured on videos posted on the site or else remove them.

According to the ruling, xHamster has three weeks starting April 12 to remove all videos with amateur images of people living in the Netherlands unless it can provide proof that those people gave their explicit permission.

Amateur images of persons who do not live in the country must be made inaccessible in the Netherlands within the same three weeks unless explicit permission can be ascertained.

The judgment by the District Court of Amsterdam follows complaints made by the local non-profit. Expertise Bureau for Online Child Abuse (EOKM).

EOKM released a statement celebrating the ruling and noting that according to the Dutch court xHamster “may only continue to publish non-professional nude images if it has the permission of all persons appearing in the picture.”

The group hailed the decision as “a victory for the rights and privacy of victims whose nude images were published without demonstrable consent.”

EOKM had previously succeeded in court last year in its action against the Dutch site Vagina.nl. The courts had ruled that it was unlawful to publish amateur images “unless the operator has ascertained that everyone in the image consents to publication.”

Last week’s decision confirms the previous ruling, but also establishes a precedent of jurisdiction for platforms located outside the Netherlands whose content can be accessed through the internet.

EOKM Director Arda Gerkens said, “I am pleased that the court has confirmed once again that this type of amateur footage cannot simply be placed online. The distribution of nude images in this way must be stopped, and all porn sites play a role in that.”

Gerkens added that EOJM “will certainly consider taking further steps against other porn sites that publish, or have published, images without explicit permission, with recognizable persons performing sexual acts in private.”

EOKM’s lawyer Hanna van Til, of the Boekx Law Firm, stated that “after this verdict, xHamster and other operators can no longer look the other way.” Her colleague Otto Volgant called the verdict “a historic ruling with major consequences for the entire porn industry” and added that it is time that the porn industry self-regulate and no longer offered videos online without the participants’ permission.

SAN DIEGO — Retired performer Casey Tanner passed away yesterday in San Diego at 28.

News of his passing were confirmed by close friends and associates.

Originally from Ohio, Tanner was a popular gay porn performer for several years in the mid-2010s, noted for a thriving career with Helix Studios. He joined the industry in 2013 and retired to San Diego with his partner around 2017.

“My heart breaks hearing the news,” posted fellow Helix alum and influencer Liam Riley on his Instagram account. “If you’ve been here for a long time, anyone who knows me knows Slade, aka Casey Tanner. 2014, a time early in my career at Helix Studios — Casey Tanner was my best friend. He was one of the funniest, sweetest, caring humans. He was sweet enough to help me move all the way across the country — if that says anything for the person he was. He was always down for an adventure! I hope he knows he was loved by so many people. Thank you for being there when I needed you. I’ll keep a piece of this friendship with me for life. Fly high.”

Several of Tanner’s industry friends announced today that they would not be live camming after hearing news of his passing.

LOS ANGELES — Wicked has debuted the third episode of Seth Gamble’s “Goddess,” starring Kenzie Taylor alongside the performer/director.

“With the mythological themes of ‘Goddess,’ acclaimed filmmaker and current XBIZ Male Performer of the Year Seth Gamble is exploring the lush cinemacore imagery that earned ‘Money’ the 2023 XBIZ Best Sex Scene — All-Sex award,” said a rep.

The new installment is titled “Episode 3 – Persephone: Goddess of the Underworld.” The mythical daughter of Zeus and Demeter from Greek lore, Persephone has become something of a modern pop culture phenomenon. Famously portrayed by Rosario Dawson in the “Percy Jackson” film franchise, this intriguing figure has influenced such films as “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions” — in which a sci-fi variant of the character is played by Monica Bellucci — and television shows like ABC’s “Once Upon A Time,” where she is suggested to be the alter-ego of Rebecca Mader’s Zelena.

“Persephone is a great character that allows you to use this pattern to your advantage,” said Gamble. “Her story, in which she is kidnapped by Hades and becomes the Queen of the Underworld, is known all over the world. Because we all have a shared, subconscious awareness of these symbols, I can tell these stories in completely visual terms.” 

When it came to choosing someone to portray the being whose life-giving abilities allow her to become the goddess of the underworld, summoning and communicating with the other side, Gamble said he considered only one individual for the role.

“I knew I had to cast Kenzie in this,” he explained. “She’s not only a gifted actress and spectacular performer, she’s an incredibly visual artist. She fit the role perfectly, and I knew she had the passion to deliver an outstanding performance. She really went to a whole other level in fleshing out the mood required for the visual effects shots. The story of Persephone was the way the ancient Greeks explained the eternal cycle of death and rebirth, and she expressed all of this visually.”

Taylor declared herself “always honored when Seth asks me to be in a vision of his. The goddess I was asked to recreate, Persephone, is by far one of my favorites. I loved everything about this day of shooting. Seth got all of us girls in the ‘Goddess’ film custom outfits created which added to making this an incredibly unique experience. I am incredibly proud of Seth and everything he has accomplished.” 

The third episode of “Goddess” premieres today, exclusively on Wicked.
