Adriana Chechik Talks Mental Health, Twitch Streaming in Reddit AMA

LOS ANGELES — Adriana Chechik recently hosted an Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Reddit where she announced that she is Bang.com’s “Bang Babe” for June and answered various questions about her love of gaming, Twitch streaming and how she deals with stress, among many other topics.

The performer revealed she would have pursued a career developing prosthetics, or in robotics, had she not gone into adult. “I find it amazing,” Chechik said, “and would love to build a prosthetic that would have the capability to grow with its user.”

Given the nature of Reddit, some users asked Chechik to explain squirting and to offer advice on how to deep-throat.

Another Reddit user asked about minors who might find her on Twitch and then discover her adult career.

Chechik made it clear in her response that she does not market her Twitch channel to people under 18 and that she age-restricts her stream. Moreover, she explained, she does not accept responsibility for people who negatively moralize about pornography.

Elsewhere, she praised OnlyFans for bringing about “a renaissance” to adult (“We are in an era where direct marketing and branding are at our fingertips, which is awesome”) and discussed mental health and wellbeing.

“I often do a big scene, then feel sad the next day. However, I know it’s just my hormone levels are drained and I remember I don’t actually feel this way and push through it,” she said.

Her entire AMA can be found here.

As part of her Bang.com “Bang Babe” spotlight, the performer sat down for a personal interview: Find Part One and Part Two on YouTube.

Texas Supreme Court Denies Section 230 Protection for 3rd Party Content, Citing FOSTA/SESTA

AUSTIN, Texas — In a stunning 33-page decision, the Texas Supreme Court denied Facebook’s liability immunity for third party content based on Section 230 — the so-called “First Amendment of the internet” — with the majority opinion quoting FOSTA/SESTA to state that Section 230 “was never intended to provide legal protection to websites that facilitate traffickers in advertising the sale of unlawful sex acts with sex trafficking victims.”

The opinion, penned by George W. Bush and George Abbott appointee Justice Jimmy Blacklock, denied Facebook’s motion to “dismiss all claims against it as barred by section 230 of the federal “Communications Decency Act” (“CDA”), which provides that “[n]o cause of action may be brought and no liability may be imposed under any State or local law that is inconsistent with this section.”

Two of the eight Justices did not participate in the decision.

Plaintiffs in three state civil cases allege “they were victims of sex trafficking who became entangled with their abusers through Facebook. They assert claims for negligence, negligent undertaking, gross negligence and products liability based on Facebook’s alleged failure to warn of, or take adequate measures to prevent, sex trafficking on its internet platforms.”

According to the decision, “they also assert claims under a Texas statute creating a civil cause of action against those who intentionally or knowingly benefit from participation in a sex-trafficking venture.”

A FOSTA/SESTA-Influenced Reading of Section 230

Blacklock, in an explicitly FOSTA/SESTA-influenced reading of the federal law, wrote that a majority of Texas Supreme Court Justices “do not understand section 230 to ‘create a lawless no-man’s-land on the Internet’ in which states are powerless to impose liability on websites that knowingly or intentionally participate in the evil of online human trafficking.”

“Holding internet platforms accountable for the words or actions of their users is one thing, and the federal precedent uniformly dictates that section 230 does not allow it. Holding internet platforms accountable for their own misdeeds is quite another thing. This is particularly the case for human trafficking,” Blacklock added, moving on to directly invoke FOSTA/SESTA.

“Congress recently amended section 230 to indicate that civil liability may be imposed on websites that violate state and federal human-trafficking laws. See Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act (“FOSTA”), Pub. L. No. 115-164, 132 Stat. 1253 (2018). Section 230, as amended, does not withdraw from the states the authority to protect their citizens from internet companies whose own actions — as opposed to those of their users  amount to knowing or intentional participation in human trafficking.”

Language of Section 230 Sharply Criticized

Blacklock rebuked the very text of Section 230, calling it  “no model of clarity,” and claimed “there is ample room for disagreement about its scope.”

“Despite the statutory text’s indeterminacy, the uniform view of federal courts interpreting this federal statute requires dismissal of claims alleging that interactive websites like Facebook should do more to protect their users from the malicious or objectionable activity of other users,” the Texas Supreme Court declared.

“The plaintiffs’ claims for negligence, negligent undertaking, gross negligence, and products liability all fit this mold,” the decision continued. “The United States Supreme Court — or better yet, Congress — may soon resolve the burgeoning debate about whether the federal courts have thus far correctly interpreted section 230 to bar such claims. Nevertheless, the prevailing judicial interpretation of section 230 has become deeply imbedded in the expectations of those who operate and use interactive internet services like Facebook. We are not interpreting section 230 on a clean slate, and we will not put the Texas court system at odds with the overwhelming federal precedent supporting dismissal of the plaintiffs’ common-law claims.”

Potential Impact for Adult Industry

Industry attorney Corey Silverstein told XBIZ that the Texas Supreme Court decision “is yet another terrible ruling and dent in Section 230 protection.”

“While I do not agree with the ruling, unfortunately, I am not surprised because this is a continuation of a pattern in this country where courts are fundamentally ignoring — or not understanding — the purpose of Section 230,” Silverstein added.

Free Speech and Section 230 specialist James Czerniawski, Tech and Innovation Policy Analyst at Utah’s free-market think tank Libertas Institute, explained that “the Texas Supreme Court, in dicta, seemed to make a bizarre suggestion that Section 230(e)(5) (the FOSTA carveout) should be interpreted to cover similar state sex trafficking laws.”

Should that play out, Czerniawski admonished, “it would have an extraordinarily chilling effect on the adult services providers that would be forced to comply not only with FOSTA, but also a host of conflicting state anti-pornography laws, dressed as sex-trafficking regulations.”

Brad Armstrong Bids Farewell to Adult Industry

LOS ANGELES — Veteran director, producer and performer Brad Armstrong has announced he is leaving the adult industry “to start a new chapter in [his] life.”

The acclaimed industry figure is most associated with Wicked Pictures, though earlier this year he told XBIZ he might end his career with a stint at Vixen Media Group.

Now Armstrong has penned a letter to the adult community, offered exclusively to XBIZ, explaining his departure after three decades in the business.

There comes a time for every person in the adult business to decide when/if it’s time to say goodbye.

Sometimes it’s for medical reasons, sometimes it’s for relationship reasons and sometimes it’s just that the phone stops ringing — but for me it was simply that I’d done it for too long and it was time to start a new chapter in my life.

I had been thinking about leaving the business for a few years, but 2020 was going to be the year. I’m a big “numbers guy” and it was 2020 — I was turning 55 — I’d been living in my house 20 years — I spent 27.5 years living in Canada and 27.5 years living in California. I’d been under contract with Wicked Pictures for 25years and had been in the Porn Biz for 30 —The numbers just all added up.

But then COVID hit and the proverbial shit hit the fan. Very soon into the pandemic, I realized porn would never be the same again and doing the big movies I was known for shooting would be all but impossible. Premium fan services like OnlyFans had also gained a crucial prominence, and I couldn’t see any upside to hanging around any longer.

So in April 2020, I had a conversation I never thought I’d have: I called Steve Orenstein, the owner of Wicked Pictures, and told him I was done. I always thought I’d be with Wicked Pictures until I was old and grey and the wheels of my walker were worn down to the nub — but times had changed.

Steve understood and we reminisced about what an incredible run we’d had and some of the amazing movies we’d made. I had an unbelievable career with Wicked Pictures and to be working for the same company for 25 plus years in the adult business is almost unheard of. I thank Steve Orenstein for giving me such an amazing place to call home all these years.

But then reality set in and the pandemic kept going and going and going. I didn’t really have a game plan and I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do.

Then, by a twist of fate, the people at Vixen Media Group heard I [might] be available. So we had a meeting and they made me an offer. We signed a three-month deal to “test the water” and see if we liked each other. It went pretty well and they offered me another six-month contract.

But just as I was about to start the new deal, I came to the realization I was just done. It really was time to move on.

I could’ve hidden the fact and just plowed through the contract and taken the money, but Steve and Mike at Vixen are great guys and they deserved better. I thanked them for the opportunity and said my goodbyes.

Now it really [is] time to call it quits. I put my house up for sale and because of how hot the market is right now, it sold in under a week.

I’m currently looking for my new home in the Bahamas. Time to retire in the tropics and enjoy beaches, boats and, of course, boobs.

I wanted to extend a big “thank you” to all the truly incredible men and women — cast and crew — that have graced me with their presence on my sets. I appreciate you all and thank you for helping make these last 30 years something I will always cherish.

Sincerely,

Brad Armstrong

The director added that he will be holding a special sale before he settles into retirement.

“I have 25 years of props and wardrobe I’ve collected while making some 200 movies,” he told XBIZ. “Bins and bins of props, wardrobe rack after wardrobe rack full of costumes. What the fuck am I gonna do with all this stuff? So here’s a shout out to any performers — both male and female — and any directors or producers who need wardrobe or costumes: Hit me up.”

Armstrong said he still has “tons of amazing outfits going for way less than you could get them in stores or online — if you could find this stuff at all.”

Clara Trinity, Alex Coal Lead New VR Bangers Fantasies

Clara Trinity, Alex Coal Lead New VR Bangers Fantasies

LOS ANGELES — The latest fantasies from VR Bangers include Alex Coal as a sexy nurse in “Miracle Maker” and Clara Trinity in the erotic parody “Sherlock’s Holes.”

In “Miracle Worker,” the viewer takes on the role of a patient in a private penis enlargement surgery clinic. Coal is tending to her patient’s sensitive area, wearing red heels, stockings and a skimpy nurse’s outfit, and realizes she wants to give the viewer’s newly refurbished equipment a spin.

“Having sex with a nurse is an extremely popular fantasy, but even though we have seen it covered in many different ways on other websites, I believe that our idea is a little bit more silly,” Producer Ivan Harbakon said. “In our brand-new VR scene, you get your cock ‘renovated’ to make it more ‘operative’ and as soon as Alex finds out that you are now the owner of a true machine, you take it for a hardcore ride.”

In “Sherlock’s Holes,” the viewer takes on the role of Sherlock Holmes himself. The Great Detective is “chilling in his office and smoking a pipe, discussing his latest case with his faithful companion, Watson. Suddenly, a desperate young girl (Clara Trinity) comes in and asks Watson to leave,” a rep explained.

The ingenué reveals that her father is missing and the police won’t help her; she offers, in lieu of cash, other special services.

“Sherlock Holmes is undeniably the most recognizable detective in history, and I am actually surprised that we did not come up with the idea of his very own VR fantasy over all these years,” Harbakon said. “In ‘Sherlock’s Holes’ all our fans and members will get to solve the case of Clara’s missing father — and to motivate their thinking process a little bit more, she will be eager to do everything it takes to please Mr. Holmes — and our viewers, too.”
