PASS Issues Update on Rare Chlamydia Strain in Florida

LOS ANGELES — PASS has issued an update on current reports of a rare chlamydia strain in Florida.

Earlier this week, the Miami-based CLEAR lab notified the performer community that it had identified “a rare strain of chlamydia” through its testing in Miami.

The strain, the CLEAR press release explained, “has had prominence in Europe, with very rare cases in the U.S. — until now,” although there was some uncertainty about whether the equipment and tests at other labs were identifying it.

Today PASS explained, “We do not yet know if there is significant incidence of the strain in the performer pool. We do know that most identified cases are performers in Florida.”

PASS also warned against “results shopping,” cautioning performers who test positive at CLEAR not to get retested elsewhere unless advised to do so by a clinician, as false negative results place performers and others at risk.

The full PASS statement reads:

Yesterday, PASS was alerted to a new, fairly rare strain of chlamydia that may not be detectable by many commonly used STI tests in the United States. CLEAR, a PASS-certified lab network that operates in South Florida, has detected several instances of the strain that appear to have gone undetected elsewhere. We have not independently confirmed CLEAR’s findings, but have no reason to believe they are not credible.

The unique mutation of this chlamydia strain makes it difficult to detect by some chlamydia test assays. The Aptima Combo 2 (AC2) test assay utilized by CLEAR appears to be able to detect this strain, while others have not.

We do not yet know if there is significant incidence of the strain in the performer pool. We do know that most identified cases are performers in Florida.

We are extremely concerned about reports of performers who have tested positive at CLEAR subsequently retested at a different facility in order to be cleared for work. Such “results shopping” is unacceptable and dangerous. If you believe that you have falsely tested positive, please retest only with guidance from a clinician. Those who purposely seek out a false negative result are putting themselves, their scene partners, and our entire industry at risk.

Regardless of the strain, chlamydia is easily treatable. While we learn more about the potential risk of this strain, there are simple steps that you can take to protect yourself and your community.

  • If you are able to be tested at a facility that uses an Aptima Combo 2 Assay by Hologic, do so. This is the test used by CLEAR in Miami and TBD Health in Las Vegas.
  • If you have tested negative for chlamydia but have possible symptoms, avoid all sexual contact. Contact your doctor or local clinic for further testing and possible treatment.
  • Alert your testing center if you have STI or UTI like symptoms, even if you have tested negative for chlamydia.

We will provide more information as we become aware.

Prince Yahshua Pens Memoir About ‘Broken Penis’ Incident

Prince Yahshua Pens Memoir About 'Broken Penis' Incident

LOS ANGELES — Veteran performer Prince Yahshua has published a memoir about  the freak “broken penis” accident he suffered during a sex scene in August, 2010.

Yahshua’s book — published earlier this month — is entitled “The Break Heard Around The World: The Most Severe Accident Ever Experienced On An Adult Film Set,” and is available in both paperback and e-book formats.

“This daring, tell-all insider story exposes one of the most severe injuries ever experienced on an adult film set,” said a rep for the Chicago-born male talent, noting that his “devoted fans have long wanted to hear his perspective on the devastating injury he suffered, so in this short, behind-the-scenes celebrity memoir unlike any other, Prince Yahshua takes readers along on his four-and-a-half-month healing journey, and then as he finally gets back to work after much prayer, exercise, and recovery time.”

To depict what happened, the rep warned, “part of the content is necessarily graphic. All of it is true.”

Back in 2010, only days after the incident, Yahshua told XBIZ that he was working with then-newcomer Bethany Benz for West Coast Productions “when things went south.”

“She’s a newcomer to the game, so I start the scene and I had her in the cowgirl position and it wasn’t working out too well,” Yahshua said at the tiem. “I didn’t like it and the producer didn’t really like it. So I spun her around for reverse cowgirl because we thought maybe it’d be easier for her because of her height. She’s around my height. Then 10 seconds into it, her rhythm wasn’t matching with my rhythm. As I put my head to the side to talk to her, the next thing you heard was…[crunch].

“She jumped off and I guess it’s the equivalent of going to your backyard, you know how you turn on your garden hose and it sprays out? That’s exactly what happened out of my dick. It was like five to six people got massacred in the room, not killed, massacred. I lost a pint and a half of blood. The reason why I didn’t lose consciousness is because I was shocked and I kept on biting my lower lip so I wouldn’t fade out.

“Luckily for us we had the producer and two other fairly big guys at the scene that were upstairs and they carried my big ass out and put me in the director Terry Burton’s truck and he floored it to the hospital,” he added.

Rocco Siffredi Clarifies Career Plans, Is Open to U.S. Offers

Rocco Siffredi Clarifies Career Plans, Is Open to U.S. Offers

BUDAPEST — Rocco Siffredi spoke with XBIZ today to clarify news coming from Italy about his supposed “retirement” from porn.

“I have not been shooting POV scenes for months, that’s what I told the reporters, and that’s the only thing I had been doing,” Siffredi told XBIZ from his European headquarters.

“But I also told her, ‘Never say never,’ because I don’t say ‘I’m retiring’ anymore,” he added laughing, noting that he had already announced retirements three times yet he keeps coming back.

The global adult industry icon told XBIZ he would definitely consider performing again in the United States.

“If I need to do another movie,” Siffredi said, “it will be in the States. That’s for sure. If I needed to do something it would be in the U.S.A., with American girls, not because I have any problem with Europe, but because I would like to do something new and special.”

“If I get an offer in the States for a good movie, I would do it,” he added.

Earlier today, Italian culture magazine MOW, which regularly covers the peninsular adult industry in general and Siffredi in particular, reported that Siffredi had told one of their reporters he didn’t want to resume performing on camera, asking rhetorically, “Is this maybe the right time?”

Siffredi told XBIZ he was eager to clarify any misunderstanding around his supposed total “retirement,” as implied by MOW.

Second GirlsDoPorn Videographer Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Theodore Gyi, who was a videographer for the shuttered GirlsDoPorn website, pleaded guilty in San Diego federal court last week to a single count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and was sentenced to four years in prison.

According to a report last week by the local NBC station, a sentencing memorandum from Gyi’s defense attorney stated that Gyi “did what he was told to do and lied to girls about where the videos would be seen when a girl asked him, or he was instructed to say, ‘I don’t know’” and tell the models to ask GirlsDoPorn owner Michael Pratt or site operator Matthew Wolfe. “But the truth is that he did know that if Pratt or Wolfe decided that they were ‘A’ reel, then it would go on the internet.”

“To help convince them that the sex videos would not be posted on the internet, Gyi told some that he believed on-line pornography was ‘cheap,’” the prosecutors said through a statement.

Prosecutors told NBC 7 that Gyi had apologized to the victims.

The Mysterious Second Videographer

Gyi was not originally mentioned by name in the FBI investigation, which was dramatically unveiled in the middle of a civil trial in which 22 Jane Doe models sued Pratt and his GirlsDoPorn associates for damages.

Wolfe served as the main videographer for GirlsDoPorn during the years in question. On the stand during the civil trial, he said that he had filmed more than 100 adult videos for the site.

Eventually, however, Wolfe was replaced by someone the criminal complaint only lists as “Uncharged Co-Conspirator No. 1.” This second videographer was presumed by legal sources to be collaborating with the FBI, perhaps in exchange for leniency.

The only other GirlsDoPorn videographer who testified in early September in the civil trial was Gyi, who confirmed key aspects of the Jane Does’ testimonies. Gyi is not mentioned by name by the FBI in the criminal probe.

As XBIZ reported, Wolfe, the second-in-command for the shuttered GirlsDoPorn website, pleaded guilty in San Diego federal court in July to a single count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.

The 40-year-old Wolfe “admitted to his role in the broad scheme that recruited numerous women under false pretenses for pornography,” the San Diego Union Tribune reported at the time.

Wolfe’s responsibilities, according to the report, included “running the day-to-day operations of the websites, managing the finances, marketing the content and serving as cameraman for about 100 videos.”

He was the main business associate of GDP owner Michael Pratt, the New Zealand national who escaped the U.S. before federal charges against the company and its employees were unsealed in 2019.

The January 2019 federal indictment against the site’s principals named Pratt, male talent and scout Ruben Andre “Dre” Garcia, Wolfe and three others, including Gyi, as co-conspirators in the GDP operation.

In December 2020, Garcia pleaded guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion; and sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion. In June 2021, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

GDP Owner One of the FBI’s ‘Ten Most Wanted’

Pratt remains a fugitive and is one of the FBI’s most wanted criminals. In early September, the FBI announced that it had placed him on its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, and doubled the reward for information leading to his arrest from $50,000 to $100,000.

The FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives page devoted to Pratt includes photographs, a downloadable “most wanted” poster and a summary of the case that states, “From approximately 2012 to 2019, Michael James Pratt and others allegedly participated in a conspiracy to recruit young adult and minor women to engage in commercial sex acts by force, fraud and coercion. Pratt and a co-conspirator owned and operated a pornography production company and online pornography websites, ‘GirlsDoPorn’ and ‘GirlsDoToys.’ Pratt and his co-conspirators allegedly recruited young women from around the United States and Canada by posting false internet advertisements for clothed modeling jobs, which the victims later discovered were pornographic productions.”

Pratt, the FBI posting continues, “also allegedly paid other young women working at his and his co-conspirators’ direction to act as references and provide false assurances to the women that, if they filmed a pornographic video, the video would not be posted online. Some women were allegedly not permitted to leave the shooting locations until the videos were completed, others were allegedly forced to perform sex acts they had declined to perform, and some women were allegedly sexually assaulted.”

The Bureau is encouraging tipsters who may have any information concerning Pratt to contact the local FBI office or the nearest American embassy or consulate.

Cere Introduces 'Indiscreet' Pleasure Products Packaging

NEW YORK — Cere has launched its new, limited-edition “indiscreet packaging.”

The packaging is adorned with phrases such as, “Guess What’s In My Box” and “What’s All The Buzz About,” placing “pleasure at the forefront of overall well-being, in a bold way,” a rep noted.

Cere “is pursuing an end to the pleasure gap by inviting women to celebrate their own sexual pleasure — out loud,” the rep continued. “Like with their clinically driven products, Cere aims to shake up the industry by introducing pleasure-forward packaging that doesn’t shy away from women owning their orgasms.”

The company’s new packaging, the rep added, “highlights Cere’s overarching efforts to fearlessly break down the stigmas surrounding self-pleasure.”

Cere founder Dr. Amir Marashi said, “Pleasure should be celebrated. It is not something women should ever hide or be ashamed of. We have reimagined decades-old products to align pleasure and anatomy in harmony, and our limited-edition packaging needs to do the same.”

“Our quest to close the pleasure gap and invite consumers to ditch outdated taboos about how their personal pleasure should look and feel,” Marashi added, “is much bigger than this brand. We need to shift that way of thinking, especially as we live during a time when large parts of the world are moving backwards in regard to sexual wellness.”
