BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Hustler Hollywood has officially opened its Palm Springs location at 475 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, a short walk from Palm Canyon Drive, the city’s main strip.

The new store marks the nationwide chain’s 41st brick-and-mortar store in the U.S. and its 12th location in California.

The Palm Springs location is one of Hustler Hollywood’s new boutique-style concept stores, rolling out in select markets across the country this year.

“It has a smaller footprint than the retailer’s traditional stores and caters to a more niche clientele,” a rep explained.

Customers can shop the resort collection of fashion-forward loungewear, lingerie, swimwear and apparel. In addition, the location will offer select bath-and-body items and unique gifts.

A grand-opening event weekend and a ribbon-cutting ceremony in conjunction with the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce will take place Friday, July 22, followed by a celebratory party Saturday, July 23 from 7-10 p.m.

“While listening to a live DJ, attendees can mingle, shop, enjoy desserts and drinks, and win prizes throughout the evening,” the rep said. “One lucky winner will receive a $500 in-store shopping spree.”

LOS ANGELES — RedGIFs has launched a resource hub designed to provide the site’s creators and sex workers with industry information and insights.

The site will additionally publish weekly blog posts penned by Kitty D, described as a writer and content creator with over eight years of experience in adult.

Blog posts now available on the site feature advice on “how to harness the power of fun when creating content and discussion around knowing when to turn the camera off, as well as advice for those taking their first steps into the industry,” noted a rep.

In recent months, said RedGIFs CEO Jimmy, the company has unveiled its official Discord server and a Twitter network, which he described as “a network of accounts covering an array of niches dedicated to the promotion of verified creators on RedGIFs.”

KOMSOMOLSK-ON-AMUR, Russia — Activist and artist Yulia Tsvetkova, 29, has been acquitted by a Russian court of distributing “pornography” and “LGBT propaganda” after being arrested for posting drawings of female anatomy online, for which she could have faced up to six years in prison if convicted.

“The case prompted nationwide protests in solidarity with her, which in turn saw dozens of people detained… Tsvetkova was charged under Russia’s controversial ‘gay propaganda’ law, which bans the promotion of homosexuality among people under 18,” the BBC reported  today.

The prosecution has 10 days to appeal the verdict. “Most cases that go to court in Russia end in conviction,” the BBC noted.

Amnesty International decried the charges against Tsvetkova as “absurd.”

“In a country where state-sponsored homophobia and misogyny are the norm, Tsvetkova’s trial was a landmark case,” the organization said in a news post today. “The Russian authorities must immediately stop targeting feminists and LGBTI activists.”

Tsvetkova spent months under house arrest after criminal proceedings were launched in 2019. In June, the Kremlin declared her a “foreign agent.”

“The trial was held behind closed doors due to what officials called the display of pornographic images in the hearings,” noted the Moscow Times.

She was featured in the BBC’s “100 Women of 2020” list, which “recognizes inspiring and influential women who are making a difference during turbulent times.”

ONTARIO, Calif. — CalExotics founder and CEO Susan Colvin has been inducted into the 2022 StorErotica Awards Hall of Fame.

An in-person ceremony, hosted by Dr. Sunny Rodgers, was held during ANME in Burbank, California on Tuesday night, following two years of paused live activities due to the COVID-19 lockdowns.

“What an honor it is to receive such a profound award. Thank you to StorErotica, my team at CalExotics, my colleagues and friends. Your support means so much to me,” Colvin said.

A rep noted Colvin “first made history” in 1994 as she became the first woman founder of an adult novelty company, with a vision to create a brand that brought more color to the market and was inclusive for people of all sexual preferences and orientations.

“I had no idea what we would be doing would change the trajectory of the adult business,” she noted.

“When I started CalExotics, my goal was to bring more women into adult stores and the business, but I never dreamed it would evolve into what we see today,” she said. “As I look around, I feel very proud of the entire makeup of this industry. We have such a large percentage of powerful women in the business, and I am honored to have helped pave the way for this.”

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Doc Johnson has teamed up with footwear brand Rose in Good Faith for a sneaker drop introducing the Plastic Soul line.

Plastic Soul shoes, a rep said, are made from recycle materials derived from discarded pleasure products from Doc Johnson’s historic North Hollywood factory.

The limited-edition drop by Los Angeles-based luxury fashion brand Rose in Good Faith is scheduled for tomorrow at 12 p.m. PDT.

Retailing at $130, the shoes will also be available at H. Lorenzo’s Los Angeles store and at The Webster.

According to the rep, Plastic Soul shoes are the result of “a unique recycling system that grinds down the factory’s defective dildos into millimeter-sized cubes of TPE, or thermoplastic elastomer. The cubes are then mixed with non-bleach EVA foam and injection-molded into shape.”

As XBIZ reported, in 2020 Rose in Good Faith partnered with Evil Angel for a limited-edition capsule collection “dedicated to pushing the barriers of taboo, while helping the world connect.”
