LOS ANGELES — X3 event organizers have unveiled the lineup of movie screenings taking place at the 2023 edition of the expo, a roster that features 2023 XBIZ Award-nominated movies “Deranged,” “Going Up,” “Grinders,” “S.I. — Sexual Intelligence” and “Spideypool XXX” in R-rated versions edited exclusively for the event by their respective directors and studios.
Wicked Pictures’ “Deranged” is Seth Gamble’s feature directorial debut. Produced by Axel Braun, the eight-part series stars Kenzie Taylor and Tommy Pistol in a moody psychosexual thriller written by Gamble. The star-studded cast includes Maddy May, Jane Wilde, Lily Larimar, Mick Blue, Codey Steele and Derrick Pierce.
“I am thrilled to be showing ‘Deranged’ to a live audience at X3 Expo,” said Gamble. “It is a very unique project among this year’s Best Feature nominees, and one dealing with a challenging topic. Movies in this territory often deal with betrayal and danger and characters incapable of trusting one another, but paradoxically, trust between the performers and the director is paramount. It’s the one quality absolutely necessary to make a really great psychological thriller, and we have that with my wonderful wife Kenzie and a consummate professional like Tommy.

James knows that we have to create that consistency every day when we go to work and maintain it under so many diverse conditions.”

Lust Cinema’s “Going Up” is studio contract director Casey Calvert’s banner production of the year. The story follows the Curtis Theater Group as they do all they can to keep their show, “The Voices Are Loud,” from falling apart. The ensemble cast is led by Seth Gamble, Maya Woulfe, Victoria Voxxx, Charlotte Sartre and Tyler Knight, and includes Lilly Bell, Sonia Harcourt, Kira Noir, Derrick Pierce, Ryan Keely, Brad Newman, Anna Claire Clouds and Isiah Maxwell.
“I’m so excited to be screening ‘Going Up’ at this year’s X3 Expo,” Calvert told XBIZ. “Last year’s screening of ‘Primary 2’ was so much fun, and I’m excited to bring what we do at Lust Cinema to the screening room again.”
Calvert described “Going Up” as the biggest, most complex movie she has shot.

Adult Time’s “Grinders” is director’s Ricky Greenwood’s “Best Feature” nominated retro drama about skater kid in late-’90s Los Angeles who has the potential and talent to go far, but is stuck in a dead-end life amongst his coterie of criminally delinquent friends. Model Media’s “S.I. — Sexual Intelligence” is the industry debut of filmmaker Max Landers. The “Black Mirror”-style near-future tech dystopia co-stars Maddy May, Codey Steele and Dick Chibbles.
“I am beyond thrilled and honored to introduce and screen ‘S.I. — Sexual Intelligence’ to a live, beautiful audience at this year’s X3 Expo in Hollywood,” said Landers. “With over five nominations this year, it’s been an incredible ride. “I’ve always been attracted to what’s behind the curtain,” Landers revealed. “Under the bed. In the shadows. Stories rooted in darker themes and unexplored subjects. The Cruise/Gamble-led cast co-stars Kenna James, Kenzie Taylor and Blake Blossom, along with Ana Foxxx, Ryan Driller, James Bartholet, Marc Kramer and Braun himself.
“It’s an honor to have ‘Spideypool XXX’ screened at X3 Expo,” enthused Braun, “and I am very much looking forward to sharing what I consider my best and funniest parody not only with the fans, but also with the cast and crew who worked so hard to help me bring my vision to life.”
Parodies, Braun explained, “are a whole different animal from a normal adult film production. LOS ANGELES — Wicked Pictures has released the third scene from “Privilege,” the new series from Gamma contract performer/director and 2023 XBIZ Director of the Year and Male Performer of the Year nominee Seth Gamble.
Created and directed by Gamble as his follow-up to “Deranged,” the series is produced by Wicked Head of Production Axel Braun. The new scene features Freya Parker and Oliver Davis, and is the third of eight scenes in a story described as “a gripping drama set in the Machiavellian world of the megarich.”
“Privilege” tells the story of towering family patriarch Alexander Nash (Evan Stone), who rules his family with an iron fist but has a soft spot for his youngest daughter (April Olsen). He’s in the middle of a huge deal that he can’t let anyone sabotage, from his duplicitous ex-wife (Lexi Luna) to his gold-digging new bride (Julia Ann), who has her eye on his money and on his beloved son Liam (Nathan Bronson).
Meanwhile, Nash’s other son, Lucas (Lucky Fate), a compulsive gambler, puts the entire family empire in jeopardy through sheer ineptitude. As Alexander’s personal saga unfolds, the torrid sex lives of his family come to light in a chain of events that will expose more dirty laundry than they ever bargained for.
“Whether I’m making a feature or something that’s non-narrative, I approach the process as a collaborative form,” said Gamble. “One of the most important components of a great collaboration is trust. And trust is a two-way street. This means that if you want your actors to trust you and your vision as a director, you must also trust them as an actor. If an actor tells you that there is a line that feels consistently awkward or unnatural, be open to what they have to say. After all, they are performing it and if they feel unnatural saying the line, their performance may come off as unnatural as well. At the end of the day I may have the final say as the director, but trusting the actors’ instincts and being open to what they have to say will make both the shoot day and the final result better.”
Parker enthused about her role.
“Playing Harper was enjoyable for me, specifically because I like to play snarky,” she said. “There’s something so sexy, yet frustrating about characters that have that kind of bite to them. I felt like I had a lot of freedom to explore and portray this role, and it was super fun. On top of that, I had the pleasure of being surrounded by an electric cast that seemed to work super well together. In my opinion, movies like this work best when there is a natural chemistry amongst the cast members.”

LONDON — The Economist released an in-depth 10-minute video report on Thursday, probing what the publication called the current “sex toy boom.”
“Gone are the days of hiding in the shadows of seedy shops in the red-light district,” reads the introduction to the Economist report, which seeks to answer the question, “Why Are Sex Toys Booming?”
Today, The Economist marveled, sex toys “sit proudly in the display counters of department stores and on pharmacy shelves. Even what they’re called has changed: ‘sex toys’ have become ‘sexual wellness devices’ or ‘sex tech.’ And more people are buying them than ever before.”
