Pornhub to Host ‘Sex Worker Survival Guide’ Summit This Weekend

NEW YORK — Pornhub will be hosting the inaugural Sex Work Survival Guide summit tomorrow and Sunday, and event that will introduce their new interactive digital education and communication platform.

The Sex Work Survival Guide is a free digital conference produced by Tiana Glittersaurus Rex, The Domme Kat, and Lola Jean.

“This one-of-a-kind digital adult industry trade festival aims to educate and support prospective and new adult entertainers and content creators,” said a rep. “For two days, the Sex Work Survival Guide utilizes Pornhub’s new digital platform to supply a series of panels, presentations, and roundtables, to the digital crowd. The summit features a mix of live-streamed and pre-recorded content that will be exclusive to the new platform.”

The rep explained that “sex work is a highly diverse industry and features a myriad of ways to earn income, both residual and immediate. This diversity often attracts an equally varied group of interested potential sex workers, typically accompanied by a strange and sometimes challenging learning curve. The Sex Work Survival Guide aims to close that gap by clarifying the legalities, safety (sexual, emotional and physical), along with the financial and business strategies needed to achieve success in the adult entertainment industry.”

Speakers slated to appear include Asa Akira, King Noire, Wolf Hudson, JetSetting Jasmine, Ana Foxxx, Lotus Lain, Sinnamon Love, Tyomi Morgan, James Darling, Xenon Universe, Fivestar, Mickey Mod and more.

Talks include “How to prevent burnout,” “How to establish and maintain online accounts with privacy,” and “What does anti-racist sex work look like?”

“The summit will center Black, Brown, and LGBTQIA+ voices, experiences, and of course, pleasure, to illustrate and uplift the exceptionally non-white industry,” said the rep.

Although this 2-day summit is designed and intended for industry newcomers who have questions and concerns about working in the sex industry in any capacity, it welcomes active performers and veterans alike.

Following the live event, the full conference will be available to watch in its entirety on Pornhub’s Sexual Wellness Center to continue providing support to the community.

Proceeds from the free event benefit SWOP Bronx, BIPOC Adult Industry Collective, and Pineapple Support.

ASACP to Discuss Online Child Protection, More at Virtual XBIZ 2021 Show

LOS ANGELES — ASACP (Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection) Executive Director Tim Henning has announced his participation in next week’s virtual 2021 XBIZ Show.

“ASACP has attended the XBIZ Show since its inception,” Henning said. “This popular event attracts an elite audience of stakeholders allowing ASACP to reach numerous decision-makers who can make a real difference in protecting children online.”

“The XBIZ Show covers all segments of the adult industry, providing a broad range of opportunities for spreading our message,” he explained. “It is a great way for ASACP to begin its yearly fundraising and sponsorship drives, and to engage different audiences than we might at other events.”

Henning will present a seminar on Monday, January 11, from 5-6 p.m. (PST) titled, “A Quarter Century of Positive Change” which will explore how companies can better protect themselves from risks associated with user-generated content (UGC), tackling the subject from a child protection standpoint.

The presentation will feature a message from Roi Carthy, CMO of the association’s newest Title Sponsor, online toxicity detection platform L1ght.com.

On Tuesday, January 12, from 5-6 p.m. (PST), Henning will join the workshop hosted by Segpay titled, “Best Practices for Managing User Uploaded Content” which will examine how UGC and child protection are impacting the payment processing space for website operators and app publishers

Henning will then participate in the “State of the Industry” panel on Wednesday, January 13, from 5-6 p.m. (PST) which is set to examine the trends shaping the future of adult digital media, including renewed threats of an escalating “War on Porn” and the huge responsibility that companies in this marketspace face in regards to protecting minors.

Throughout the week, he will meet with “current and prospective sponsors in XBIZ’s Virtual Business Lounge,” noted a rep, “where he will be available to discuss how modern media and service providers can do their part to further online child protection — and why it is so important to support the association today.”

“ASACP will also receive prominent exposure on the event website and media coverage, providing valued recognition for the association at this elite gathering of adult industry professionals,” added the rep.

Henning noted how “XBIZ’s longtime support of the association helps us carry out our mission.”

“This support combined with that of our sponsors enables various initiatives, including the development of the Restricted To Adults website meta label and international TipLine, proving the adult industry is truly a responsible partner in keeping children out of and away from age-inappropriate material,” he said.

“Held in a virtual setting where barriers to travel are eliminated, the 2021 XBIZ Show is the ideal venue for meeting with industry stakeholders that may not otherwise be able to visit Hollywood, broadening the range of business owners and operators that we can reach,” Henning concluded. “This is an unprecedented opportunity to spread our message as we respond to the evolving nature of online child protection and the many challenges that this new technological era presents.”

BranditScan CEO to Talk Brand, Identity Protection at XBIZ Show

BranditScan CEO to Talk Brand, Identity Protection at XBIZ Show

MONTREAL — BranditScan.com CEO Gino Sciretta will host “Protect Your Brand, Your Content & Your Personal Info” on Tuesday, January 12, from 5-6 p.m. (PST) at the virtual XBIZ Show.

A rep noted that Sciretta, who is also the co-founder and former CTO of ManyVids, has “grown tired of seeing adult content creators fall victim to scams, abuse from hackers and doxxing.”

“He thinks that the industry needs to start talking openly about the issues surrounding model information and their privacy,” continued the rep. “During his live XBIZ 2021 workshop, he wants to start this open discussion with content creators, sharing his experiences and situations that he has faced, and wants to share these hard learned lessons with the industry.”

The exec “has always been passionate about privacy and security,” the rep said. “With the trends of phishing scams and doxxing only increasing, he knew he had to be a part of the solution. He has taken his passion to the next level and founded BranditScan, a software company that gives content creators a 360-degree view on how their brand is being used on the web and the ability to fight back against piracy by protecting their brand from unwanted use. He has found that the biggest challenge the industry faces today surrounds content, and the damage it can cause to their brand and their income.”

Sciretta, with a decade of experience in adult, noted that “(b)eing proactive is what is most important.”

“Most people think that they’re being proactive, but I’ve seen the most cautious of content creators fall victim to these types of things,” Sciretta said. “These models work really hard for their content and it’s ridiculous to see pirates taking advantage of their content.”

“Nothing is more demotivating to see your vids appearing on pirate sites after you spent so much time and effort shooting them,” he added.

Anti-CSAM Developer L1ght Joins ASACP as a Sponsor

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced L1ght.com as its newest Title Sponsor.

An ASACP rep described L1ght as having developed AI that “detects various forms of online toxicity, including bullying, harassment, hate, predatory behavior, self-harm and CSAM. L1ght works with technology and content companies to implement brand-protection, reduce user churn and enhance trust and safety with more than 90 data models that analyze toxic behavior and activity across text, photos and videos.”

L1ght CMO Roi Carthy noted the company has “removed 120,000 child predators from WhatsApp, helped Bing identify and remove problematic search results and is actively scanning millions of sites monthly for CSAM.”

“This is why we see our joining ASACP as an important milestone in our continued work to make the web cleaner and safer for all,” continued Carthy. “We look forward to making our anti-toxicity technology available to ASACP members.”

ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning said that association sponsors such as L1ght illustrate how proactive corporate responsibility and ethical operation can make a real-life difference in protecting at-risk youth online, and noted that L1ght is going above-and-beyond the call in its support.

“By sponsoring ASACP, the industry’s most prominent players prove that legal adult entertainment and mainstream digital media businesses alike, as well as their support services, such as online safety service provider L1ght, are capable of doing the right thing when it comes to preventing minors from accessing adult-oriented materials,” explained Henning.

“ASACP is grateful to the commitment to online child protection that L1ght is making through its efforts and sponsorship of the association, and we encourage other companies to embrace a similar leadership role in keeping minors out of and away from adult-oriented materials,” he added.

Henning said ASACP’s Restricted To Adults (RTA) website code helps parents by preventing their children’s access to billions of adult-oriented webpages and mobile apps and is offered free to all adult website and app publishers — as are all ASACP services — “thanks to the generosity of ASACP’s industry-leading sponsors, such as L1ght.”

The association’s sponsors “showcase the diversity of support that the association receives from a wide range of market segments,” Henning concluded. “The generous contributions by responsible companies such as L1ght enable ASACP’s continued positive achievements in improving the daily digital lives of today’s constantly connected youth — and by stepping up as a premier Title Sponsor, it is helping us to spread the good word about online child safety to a new generation of publishers and digital media consumers.”
