LOS ANGELES — Organizers of the AltPorn Awards have opened their pre-nominations period and have announced a return to the ceremony’s traditional springtime slot on the calendar for its 2021 virtual celebration, currently set for May 28.

“Normally, this is when we’d let you know to mark your calendars for our star-studded blowout, but, with everything still going on in the world right now, we are planning to livestream a virtual awards show again this year,” noted AltPorn Awards producers in a statement. “Every year, we do noms and voting online, so celebrating this digital part of our awards process now continues as always.”

“If you know of any work produced in 2020 that really deserves attention for being outstanding, just hit up our nominations form,” they said. “We introduced some new ones a couple years ago, especially for indie-produced clips. If, as the world changes, and alt drives the future, you can think of categories we should add, please suggest them. If you only want to nominate in one category, that is fine. If you want to share your opinion on all of them, that works, too.”

A “panel of judges” will assess the qualified suggestions in each category; however, producers said, “it is helpful if you let us know why you suggested your noms.”

They added that performers, filmmakers and artists are “welcome to ask friends and fans and collaborators to nominate you, but it is a plus if they mention why you are awesome and links to the work always help, too. Shares on Twitter of who you nominated will also be considered.”

The deadline to submit pre-noms is 11:59 p.m. (CST) Tuesday, March 16. Click here to submit suggestions.
