2022 XBIZ Awards Set for Jan. 9 at Hollywood Palladium

LOS ANGELES — XBIZ is pleased to announce the 2022 XBIZ Awards, presented by ManyVids, will crown the best-of-the-best in adult on Sunday, Jan. 9 at the historic Hollywood Palladium.

The 2022 XBIZ Awards will serve as the glamorous capstone event to an action-packed week that includes the flagship XBIZ L.A. Show at the Kimpton Everly Hotel in Hollywood from Jan. 3-6 and the debut of  creator-first fan show X3 Expo from Jan. 7-8.

Following the 2022 XBIZ Awards, the debut hybrid edition of the ANME/XBIZ Show will take place at the Marriott Burbank Hotel Jan. 10-12.

“As we celebrate a return to in-person events, the 2022 XBIZ Awards moves to a new venue in the heart of Hollywood for added convenience for our conference and trade show attendees,” XBIZ Events Director Moe Helmy said. “After too-long a hiatus from live events, we are thrilled to bring everyone back together to celebrate our best and brightest, and so look forward to reconnecting with everyone in the new year.”

In accordance with current City of Los Angeles COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, attendees and participants must show proof of vaccination for entry into the venue.

Senator Josh Hawley Blames ‘The Left,’ Feminism for Rise in Porn Viewership

ORLANDO, Fla. — Senator Josh Hawley told a Florida audience gathered at a conservative conference this weekend that a supposed attack on traditional masculinity from “the Left” and feminism have resulted in “more and more men” consuming porn.

The Missouri Republican was addressing the National Conservatism Conference in Orlando, Florida.

“Can we be surprised that after years of being told that they are the problem, that their manhood is the problem,” Hawley harangued, “more and more men are withdrawing into the enclave of idleness and pornography and video games?”

“No one should,” the 41-year-old senator admonished, according to a report by The Guardian.

“While the Left may celebrate this decline of men, I, for one, cannot join them,” added the proudly religious conservative — who has argued that “Separation of Church and State” means that the State may not prevent churches from acting in politics.

As the Guardian pointed out, Hawley “did not cite sources for his belief that men were watching pornography more frequently.”

Hawley’s tirade included several statements about his notions regarding a supposed plot by “the Left” to “give us a world beyond men.”

“The Left want to define traditional masculinity as toxic,” Hawley complained. “They want to define the traditional masculine virtues — things like courage, and independence and assertiveness — as a danger to society.”

His speech was republished today by right-wing news and commentary site The Federalist.

During 2021, Hawley had lowered his profile as one of the most vocal GOP anti-porn crusaders, after his controversial actions during the January 6 insurrection

As XBIZ reported, during his brief stint as Missouri attorney general in 2017, Hawley even blamed the sexual revolution of the 1960s and ’70s for “human trafficking.”

“We have a human trafficking crisis in our state and in this city and in our country because people are willing to purchase women, young women, and treat them like commodities,” Hawley told a right-wing Kansas City evangelical group in 2017. “There is a market for it. Why is there? Because our culture has completely lost its way. The sexual revolution has led to exploitation of women on a scale that we would never have imagined, never have imagined.”

LOS ANGELES — Free Speech Coalition (FSC) will host a free industry-only webinar titled “The War on Porn: Media Strategies for Advocacy” Tuesday at 11 a.m. (PDT).

FSC will host a special workshop and strategy session on Tuesday, November 2 for adult industry activists looking to fight back in the War on Porn. The session, led by FSC Director of Public Affairs Mike Stabile and featuring veteran industry activists, is designed to help sex workers and other activists understand the current media landscape, and how to use media — from press to self-created content — to get their message out more powerfully.

“We have thousands of active creators and other industry workers who want more help fighting back against censorship and repression,” says Stabile. “The way we win this battle is by turning creators and others in our industry into more effective activists, and teaching them how to get their stories out there.”

The session will be divided into two parts. The first, a webinar, will cover the media tactics being used by the antis, as well as general tools and techniques that adult activists can use to help change the narrative. This first part will be recorded so that it can be shared with those who cannot make the meeting. 

The second part of the meeting will be an off-the-record strategy session to discuss more specific media plans to fight back against anti-porn and anti-sex work organizations, and to hear ideas from individuals. It will not be recorded.

All attendees for the meeting will be vetted.

“Last week’s town hall showed how passionate our industry is, and how many people are invested in this fight,” says Stabile. “But if we’re going to be successful, we need to move from defense to offense. That’s why, over the next weeks and months, we’ll be hosting more webinars and workshops to help our community grow its political and cultural strength.”

Kate Kennedy: I do standup comedy as well as porn. I got booked for a comedy show at 7 p.m. one evening, but then I also got booked for a short blowjob scene about 35 miles away, with a call time of noon. I was sure I had plenty of time to do the scene, get cleaned up, and make it to the show. But when I got to the set, I found out that the production crew was shooting multiple porn scenes that day and mine wouldn’t begin until 3 p.m. After an hour or so, I started to get antsy. I explained my situation — that I needed to leave by 5 p.m. at the latest — to the cast and crew. Luckily, another girl with an earlier scene was willing to trade spots with me, so I was able to begin my scene early, and it was going swimmingly despite the countdown clock in my head. 

Then, when we’d almost finished the scene, something went wrong: I was on my back with my head hanging off a couch while this dude pounded the absolute fuck out of my throat. He pulled out, so I thought I had time to swallow the mouthful of spit I’d accumulated, and that I was now gagging on. But as I had my tongue at the back of my throat, ready to swallow, this dude slammed his cock back into my mouth, hitting my tongue from below. Boom. Blood everywhere. 

The force had torn the frenulum that connected my tongue to the bottom of my mouth. 

We called cut, and I frantically tried to stop the bleeding, but to no avail. So, I decided to finish the scene with my tongue held down and pressed up against my teeth to keep the blood from spilling out; my scene partner came in my face instead of in my mouth. Then, I cleaned up as fast as I could and drove to the comedy show with an ice cube under my tongue. I did an entire standup set that night with a very noticeable lisp. I mostly remember trying not to spray the audience with my tongue blood. But I still got laughs, and everything ended up being fine. 

But that day, I realized I probably needed to keep my porn and comedy lives a bit more separate.
